I wish I could give zero stars! I have contacted American Home Shield a few times over the course of 6 years! I have paid in over $4000 to for piece of mind knowing that if I had a problem they would take care of it! Laughable. I’ve never been more upset and frustrated with a company in all my life! Every time I have called for a problem they are slow to respond and the item is never covered. There is always additional out of pocket expenses and they can’t give a clear explanation as to why. Complete fraud! Got the american home shield warranty with the purchase of our home. Praised our realtor for the suggestion when our AC went out in May, during a heat wave in Oregon. It took over 3 weeks to get it fixed because a new compressor had to be ordered. The contractor they sent out told me that AHS only pays to repair things so I had no options other than paying $145 per pound of R22 freon. My freon bill ended up being $1740, and my total bill was $1869 because I had to pay for "tune up and cleaning." Fast forward ... read more

American Home Shield sent a HVAC contractor to check on my gas pack HVAC unit that had failed. The contractor quoted me $4200 in "non-covered" repairs and gave the warranty company a quote to cover the unit. The quote was not only high, but AHS said the contractor quoted only $970ish for the unit, bringing the entire quote to around $5680. I got a second quote from another unrelated contractor and they quoted me $3900 for the entire job, similar unit and all. Service fees keep going up AND monthly fees.
A TOTAL SCAM. MY WATER HEATER STARTED LEAKING BUT THEY WONT REPLACE IT BC ACCORDING TO THEM IT WAS A PREEXISTING CONDITION. NOT TRUE BC IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED IT. BOTTOM LINE, STATY AWAY FROM TEM...THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO DENY YOUR CLAIM

They send a service man out when requested for an additional service fee on top of your yearly cost. Once the service man states that the appliance needs to be replaced, its over! The company never follows through, answers your call or gives you a new appliance. We have been waiting 45 days " waiting on authorization" to have our new washing machine. HORRIBLE Customer Service!!!!

Waited 2 weeks for an appliance repair company (Greenway Home Services) to come to my house to fix a non working dryer. It's been 72 hours since the repair company came and assessed what parts need to be fixed. I've still not heard from AHS and have called 3 days in a row to be told the same story. First, AHS needs to get reps that are in the U.S. Second, I asked to speak to a manager and was told they were busy. Third, I still don't have an answer on when my dryer will be fixed. Absolutely horrible! Don't waste your money. I called them to fix an improperly installed furnace. Furnace guys came out, did absolutely nothing after fiddling with the furnace for about 45 minutes. Left no paperwork and left. HORRIBLE. I called American Home Shield to say they didn't fix the problem...they said they would call them and call me back. Called them twice more and STILL never received a follow up call. And these #$%#$ers have the NERVE to send me a bill for the service charge?!?!?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MINDS!??!?... read more

My A/C has been out for almost 10 DAYS now. It took 3days to get them to send someone out to look at the unit. It is now taking a week to order a part. And, then they will have to schedule someone to come out to fix it. We live in Cypress, TX and they don't care that it is 100 degrees and that we are without air for 2 weeks with Kids. I would NOT recommend this vendor.
