Very difficult to communicate with AHS.. Over a month to replace my microwave and it is still not replaced

American Home Shield (AHS) is not your friend. They will only provide you with the bare minimum level of replacement coverage. Our policy clearly covers replacement of the air conditioning unit. Two different service technicians have inspected the air conditioning unit and confirmed that it must be replaced (after the first technician's report they claimed that none of the replacement costs were covered). One of the worst businesses I have ever been with. They have not once ever covered anything that I needed covered. I would have been better off just taking the money that I paid them over the past four years and putting it into a savings account. I am now trying to cancel and have been on the phone with them for over 2 hours and keep getting transferred back and forth with no help. Terrible customer service. It took three months to get our heat pump replaced, then the contractor did not complete the job, needed more parts. Now it's been three months I've been waiting for the job to be completed. I call and call and they tell me the contractor will call you to schedule completion and it does not happen. Waste of money and will be cancelling! There customer service is terrible and the low grade (or better no grade) third rate repair technicians are incentive to find loopholes not to pay only to up sell a costly repair. AHS is AMAZING with very timely calls citing a loophole in the Terms and conditions to deny claims! Anyway, I finally got a clue and called a reputable repair company who told me the AHS diagnostic was “Crud” and fixed my heating for a fraction of the $900 repair bill I was lied that I needed. I have had this company for 10 years. Just recently my a/c went out.. in the middle of a heat wave. I called them & asked for a senior tech & it took 72 hours to get their vendor to come out. Then it took over 48 hours for AHS to ok the repair... well guess what ? That was a Friday .... we then needed a factory authorized part that then had to be approved by AHS . We had to wait for vendor to provide the part #...that was done on Monday ... now it’s 10 days since reported a/c out. AHS then had to approve the cost of the part... read more

No one speaks English as a first language. Very difficult to deal with any service rep. Have had to call over and over for status of my claim. AC broken for weeks and they won't respond to the tech they sent out. I absolutely HATE calling them. I need a stiff drink after every call. Having coverage is great but dealing with the company is infuriating.

Similar AC situation to everyone else. AC croaked on July 22 and I contacted AHS. Three days later the repair service diagnosed a leaking coil and ordered the part. I was told that the part arrived on July 29 and when they arrival was confirmed my repair would be scheduled. July 31 I contacted the repair service and they had someone confirm that the part had indeed arrived and THEN looked at the schedule. I am scheduled for the part to be installed on the August 6.
