I’ve been without a properly working AC Unit for 8 weeks. They have sent technicians out several times to make faulty repairs. Was without AC entirely for 7 days and they provided no hotel accommodations. Terrible company and terrible contractors. Don’t waste your time with them. Any time you call for help they connect you to someone in India or Pakistan who like to hang up on you.

I don’t even know where to begin on this, still on hold at the moment it has been 1 hour and 51 minutes. I requested help with a well pump. The guy called me and requested a picture of the pump. I sent one to him and have not heard from him since. $125 has been taken out of my bank for this project.

AHS pays as little as possible, will find any reason not to pay and each year the coverage dwindles as the rates increase. I am strongly considering cancelling.

I had a service call on my (warranty-covered) washing machine. The technician from a local appliance repair company came out and identified a couple of parts that needed to be replaced, and said that this information would be forwarded to AHS. AHS then decided on their own that the machine had been abused/overloaded, and thus the repair was not covered by the warranty. Note that this was a determination made by AHS, not by a technician who physically inspected the machine. AHS thus refuses to pay for repairs to the machine. ... read more

Hi my name is Troy. I am having a bad experience with AHS. This my second time calling about my a.c.. The 1st time when they came he only put stop leak in. Even I knew that was not going to work. I had to pay $100 service call and $35.00 per lbs for coolant. Total cost to do nothing $300.00. Less than 5 months later guess what...a.c. not working again due to same issue. My AC broke down and it took a week to get a service visit, then it took another week for them to get the part because American Home Shield apparently has to be the one to order the part and then mail it to the service provider. This is ridiculous! I can’t imagine having a baby in the house, my bulldog can barely take it and stays in the basement fresh. I can’t imagine this happening in the winter with my heater. can't trust the service being done, Had work done in winter that caused another fee in the spring because of per workmanship.

The service professional's work was great. However, the service reps for home shield were hard to understand and they didn't seem to grasp what the repair entailed. It ended up not being covered after a couple of phone calls from service techs that said they didn't do that work. It was frustrating. The garage door issue was handled promptly, tho.
