This is the worst company i have ever dealt with in my entire life. I do not know how they are not shut down yet. American Home Shield is a complete SCAM. Most of these positive reviews are FAKE and PAID for. Think its odd for every bad review 4-5 good ones pop up? Super generic reviews with no detail? ALL FAKE!!! AHS is a scam and they will do everything they can to NOT fix issues. I hope AHS gets sued for every penny they are worth and are shut down. Someone needs to investigate this scam company.

I have complained to American Home Shield about the poor quality of service from their contractor and the issue has still not been resolved. I have had four visit from the contactor to fix my AC. Today the unqualified service worker came and improperly diagnosed my issue. He left before even seeing whether or not his recommendation would actually help the AC to cool. He was unprofessional and did not leave any documentation of his recommendations in writing. I am currently dissatisfied with American Home Shield.

I've been a member for years. My water heater started leaking in November 2019. AHS sent me their plumber who had terrible yelp reviews. I ended up putting in the new water heater myself. AHS said they would send me a check for $600 to pay for my water heater only. I've made calls to AHS shield every other week since November 2019 and they still haven't paid. I wish I didn't pay my membership advance or I'd go to another company.

Stay away. Have gone thru two attempts paying $75, freon charges, and days off from work attempting to get a/c repaired. In both cases, the technician first has to fill freon promising to return if the unit stopped working. In both cases, took several days to return when the freon leaked as expected. Today the technician came back saying AHS needs to authorize a compressor replacement which will take a couple days. What a joke, the Service dept takes your $75 then the local company they choose says the item is NOT COVERED. I had something in the attic, "unknown" squirrel, rat, raccoon? unsure, the Service dept was more than happy to process my $75 to put in an order even after I specifically asked if this would be covered YES YES YES....review your recorded conversation. NO TO THIS as a service....not worth a DIME!!!

The warranty company used to be fine until the calls started routing to some customer care in Philippines. I had an issue with washer leaking water and created a service request in June 2019. A part had to be ordered and until we made several calls, the part was not ordered. After the part was ordered, it took around 3 months to fix it to the washer. American Home Shield is a scam and ripoff. They take your money and do not provide a service in return! Their contractors are instructed to make the repairs fall into "uncovered" categories, leaving the financial burden to the homeowners! I had a technician come in and tell me I need 5lbs of refrigerant, which AHS doesn't cover (the cost is $125/lb). I paid him 650 and my AC went out 3 days later because he didn't diagnose the real issue. They refuse to reimburse me. I will never use AHS again.

Many years ago I entered a contract with American Home Shield and the service was great! However they cut back on the plumbing coverage and the fact that most contractors in my area will not accept it. The plumbers don't want to crawl under my house and look at plumbing problems just to take a photo and get approval. It a lot easier for them to get there and take care of the problem.
