American Home Shield may be good for some things but don't buy with the expectations of quick service when you AC goes out in mid July (100°+ Weather). We had to wait over a week for one of their "Approved Vendors" to confirm my AC compressor had in fact failed. I waited patiently for over a week in the hottest part of summer and they denied my claim on a 15 year old 5 ton Lennox outdoor evaporator unit stating it was not installed to manufacture specifications. First of all, they renewed my contract at a higher price without ever contacting me. Secondly, they sent a contractor with an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau to my home. This is the second time they suggested a repairman with an "F" rating. When I refused to use this contractor, they only offered me $435.00 for a water tank and installation, which is less than I would have had to pay their crappy plumber out of pocket. We have had AHS for 7 years had only 3 claims put in and 3 claims denied for various reasons that they chose. To give you an example our heater to our pool went out and they said they wouldn't fix it because it was due to the exposure outside hum heater to the pool where else would you put it in the laundry room. We finally had enough and canceled our contract now they want a cancellation fee. They can take it out of the 10,080 that we have given them and got nothing in return but excuses.

Zero stars. WORST customer service from off-shore call center. Contractors they send out try to extort money for “uncovered” parts and then refuse to do the job. Can not ever talk to anyone. Awful Awful Awful Wish zero was an option

The only thing this company is good for is charging my debt card each month for its service! Run don’t walk away from this company. Imagine calling AMERICAN home shield and getting Laurence from the Philippians, who can’t speak clear English and could careless if I have a broken AC. Our worlds contrast too much, they don’t get it! I’m appalled and I will be canceling my service immediately! Terrible waste of $700. Don’t even think about it.

After AHS plumbers and installers have been to the house 4 times, we paid a plumber $175. to install a basic dishwasher over one that had many more features. Over9 hours were spent on the phone, often with no results and 1 time to be hung up on. Hers and his plumbing failed miserably in their installation efforts. Very dissatisfied with AHS and subs which put much unneeded stress on an 82 year old woman.

I purchased a home 3 months ago and so far have placed to claims in with AHS. The first ticket was for a pipe leaking in my wall. The plumber came and was able to stop the leak after putting two decent holes in the wall. Glad it’s not leaking but AHS offered me $120 reimbursement if I use a vendor I find myself. I live in a remote area and if their large team with full time employees can’t find someone to patch walls at that rate, what is the chance I can? Zero! Next is my water heater went out. This company is a joke. Do not settle for a home warranty like this if you are purchasing a new home instead of the seller fixing items. We found a leak with a pipe in the wall that led to water damage to the framework in the wall, insulation, and the drywall. After calling and scheduling a plumber to come out he came and repaired the pipe, but that's it. No additional work. Which led to another phone call to AHS to have the rest of the work done. I’ve found my American Home Shield warranty to be excessively expensive and to provide little or no actual coverage for things that have gone wrong in my new house. I’m grateful for the good intentions that my new house builder showed in paying $1,025 for the warranty contract I've had since 25 January 2019.
