In 100 degree weather our air condition compressor for our master bedroom , located on second story, went out. The unit ceased. AHS responded by assigning a contractor in a different city, over an hour and a half away, and I could not reach by phone. Kept getting answering service. I complained and said my husband is not in good health, need asap service. They assigned the call to a local provider but failed to tell me. I had American Home Shield coverage forover 6 years. At the beginning, it was ok. But my last 2 experiences were horrible. we had a furnace failure in freezing temperatures. When I filed my claim, the soonest someone could come out was 3 days later! I called an spoke to a rep who just would not understand that having no heat in freezing weather is going to cause pipes to freeze and I will have much bigger issues than just no heat. Should also note that the service call by AMERICAN Home Shields air conditioning company who said my unit was operating normally and then tried to up sell me turned into a service call by a reputable air conditioning company and a $475.00 bill to fix my ac that according to AMERICAN home shield was “Perfect” save your money and RUN from these crooks

Called for a faucet leak, plumber came but wasn’t able to fix the problem. AHS charged me $100 for nothing. I will definitely cancel this insurance, it’s a waste of money.

Just recently filed a claim about a leak in my front yard and instead of telling me that it wasn’t covered in my claim they decide to build me for it and then I had to pay a plumber out of pocket. I could have just called a plumbing company myself and saved the extra 85. Will not recommend them to anyone and didn’t want to make this right

This company is a total scam. Technicians don't fix problems. You call the company they are polite but do not resolve problems. I gave up and paid out of pocket. This is total racket with the Realtors. NO ONE SHOULD USE THEM TO SELL A HOUSE AND NO BUYER SHOULD CARE.

American home shield is the biggest scam ever, my air conditioner was not working on July 22 and I was told by this fly by night company in Houston’ Three brother ‘ when they showed up that my unit did not meet code which is ridiculous and laughable and then requested a different company they showed up and yet to hear from them. I had to pay out of pocket to fix my evaporated coil - Air team is the best AC company in Houston. AMERICAN HOME SHIELD IS FRAUD!!!!

NO STARS. Water Heater went out took 2 days for repairman who showed up and stated needed $700 in additional money in addition to the replacement water heater. He left the water on leaking through the water heater. Called customer service unbelievable response and they offered a cash out. Received an intelligible call as to the amount. Now on hold for 50 minutes for status of money. I paid $515 for a replacement water heater and installed with my father and plumber friend.. BTW the $700 addl parts and labor WAS A SCAM. Still trying to get my oven repaired since August 1st. Only thing I’ve gotten from AHS is another “past due” invoice for a service call. I paid the first $75 service call fee, repairman left and when I tried to use the oven, it still will not work. They have closed the work order and now want to bill me for another service call before they’ll send anyone out. I did not renew the contract, as they have not honored their liability.
