Booked a service call through AHS. The contractor that they sent out walked out of the job citing a concern around having to lift the dishwashing unit up 1/4 of an inch. Called AHS to question the contractors logic as any appliance company would have to move the appliance to work on it. I reviewed very curt (almost antagonistic) customer service from their customer service dept. I was really taken aback by their lack of sympathy and regard for my experience. We have had American Home Shield for the past six years on our previous home and only had two service calls with them. We purchased a home on 11/27/19 and moved in on. December second. American Home Shield lost the check from escrow for the year coverage and could not get service for the sewer stoppage when I needed it.Nor was able to get the home re-keyed so I had to spend out of pocket $180.00 . Annual fee $780. Paid out $300 in their $75 service fees. The four times they came out in 2020, 3 times the claims were denied. Technician said it was customer negligence or something that wasn't covered. They refused to show me why and there was no dispute process at all. Contract expires in June. No way to cancel on line. Called to cancel, lady was extremely condescending when I questioned their $65.25 admin fee to cancel my contract that was expiring. No confirmation number that my payment info has been removed. We have been AHS clients for over 10 years now and it is incredible to see how a company of this size has simply forgotten that its most important asset is its clients and not its shareholders or its bottom line; without clients and there is no business. Called them to fix the thermostat on a home A/C. It one of two outside ground units. It appears that the thermostat has had it. It is over 110 degrees here. I did it on line and checked with a customer service rep 8 hours after I did it. She was very nice and said no one had picked it up. Like it was a board the providers went to to find a job. I can't stand American Home Shield! Their customer service is whack and I am not certain who they are hiring for these customer service jobs, but they were not in the line when common sense was being handed out. They sent Moreno Plumbing and Heating to my house because the temp inside is 95 degrees. The company has very poor reviews but Am. Hm. Shield likes them because the are cheap. The guy came, two hrs. early. Instead of asking me how to access my swamp coolers, which is very easy, he went into my neighbor’s yard, moved some of their stuff, and stood on their trailer. American Home Shield is one of the BIGGEST RIP OFF in modern day Home Warranty Services!!!!! I cancel service with AHS in the month of September 2019. American Home Shield provided inadequate service through one of their contracting companies (Ace Garage Door Opener Repair) and I was charged for it.
