Better go over their contract with a fine tooth comb. Have had AHS for 2 years, filed 3 claims in 2 years and ALWAYS had to pay out of pocket on top of their "service fee". The terms, conditions, and definitions of repair are very broad. They hide behind it.

HSA sold contract to AHS. AHS lacks coverage of 2 main items needed coverage. After all these years of paying to HSA for water softener I now had to purchase it for $600 plus installation. On 8/5 I contacted AHS charged $55.64 "administrative fees" to cancel a warranty contract I never purchased from AHS in addition to the $69.32 charged July 19. Tried to speak to supervisor - "all busy". Tried contacting US but only reached Philippines & told "keep trying to call back & maybe reach US". 8/13 I called AHS because my account ... read more

I used American home shield back 2014-2017 and have no issues. Fast forward to 2019. Customer support and choice of contractors has been absolute trash! On one of my properties the hot water wasn’t working in the shower, I was told I needed a new hot water converter. The company said they needed to order a part the would be delivered within 3-5 days. They NEVER called back, I am now deployed and still haven’t heard from them. House #2 needs a new AC evaporation coil, I was told I would have to pay $1500 dollars out of pocket... read more

My central air conditioning keeps braking down. The company that they send out takes forever to show up. Once they offered to replace my unit for 4800.00 and told me I was getting a discount. They said that American Home Shield does not replace AC units they only will pay for certain parts. That is not what American Home Shield advertises. So it has been a nightmare dealing with this company. The AC keeps breaking over and over. We go weeks without air conditioning in 98 degree weather . Started a claim Oct.18 2019 for my gas furance and it is Nov. 13 2019 and it is still not fixed . The people they sent have been here 5 times and now they are sending out another company for a second opinion and my daughter and i are here with it in the 30's almost a month later and its still not fixed. These people are a big joke and i would not recommend them at all.

Requested service for broken a/c 6/9/19, they ordered parts which took two weeks, now another week to come do repairs, expecting 7-1/19. Just shy of a month with no a/c with temps outside at 100! Rude customer service every time I called to check the status!

Very shady company. They just want members to pay and would not respect their own terms. I called in and paid $100 service fee to resolve smelling issues from the 3 drainage points that my tenants compained about. They sent a plumber who just checked few things and started asking for more money to do more tests. Whereas all was need was cleaning and flushing the 3 lines. Stay far away from this company. They actually made us lose 3 weeks in the process and did nothing plus I lost #100 for the service which was never returned... read more

I initially made a service call on my refrigerator on 8/16/19. A technician came out, found an issue, ordered a part, and then came back to complete the repair. The part ordered did not fix the problem and a recall request was made within the 60 day timeline that AHS offers, on 9/8/19. The same technician came back out and ordered a different part, however my refrigerator began working again so the technician had me hold off on completing the repair.
