We've used AHS as a secondary insurance for our appliances, a/c units, etc at our main home & rental property for two years. We had to use them one time and the one request for service on our dryer was a fiasco. It took almost two weeks for them to process the claim, get a technician out, then approve the technician to work on the dryer. This is absolutely the most frustrating company to work with. We have been without Thor water now for 7 days. A tech was sent out but couldn’t fix our water heater on the spot. We are still waiting for AHS to authorize the part. I have been hung up on about eight times by both the customer service reps at AHS as well as the contractor that they use. I am totally being stolen from each month and am at a loss of what I can do to get a resolution...

Worst customer service EVER. This company is set up to profit, which means, they do not pay out, and will look for every excuse not to. Within two years, they "replaced" my evaporator coil twice, and when it broke the third time, again only offered replacement of the part, not to replace the 12 year old unit. Instead, I opted for the cash out of $690, but ha, ya, umm.. of course they every excuse not to pay this. We have used AHS for previous repairs and had no issue with the contractors or repairs. Now we have had a range top that caused literally a small explosion in our kitchen that fortunately did not destroy the home or kitchen. The technician who visited said the range top is non repairable. It's been a month and we cannot get an answer as to why a check has not been issued. This is my third attempt. Your customer service is the WORST I have almost ever experienced. I have 2 homes covered thru AHS and my first call was on a home that I own and my son and his family live in...there are 2 small children that live there..the call was for the HVAC, I called on a Friday and was told that the Tech would be there on Saturday...NOT true the company is closed on the weekend. I live in Texas. I have dealt with American Home Shield and the service providers they send since 2017 and it’s July 2019. I keep paying for one more call as I wait weeks to get the air conditioner fixed. It’s still broke! The only way I get anything done is calling someone on my own and paying out of pocket. What is the benefit of American Home Shield? I call American Home Shield and still nothing!!

They charged my credit card $470 when they were not supposed to and took over 2 hours on the phone a week to refund. Sent out a plumming company that couldnt do all the work, had to request a different one and we got charged $75 again.

I called AHS a month ago to get my toilets fixed in both my master and guest bathrooms. They told me we had to pay for the service before the technician came out. This was a new policy that we have never heard of or had to do before. I paid for it and the technician came. He replaces a $1.99 stopper in the guest bathroom and did nothing to the master bathroom. If I could give less than one star I would!!! I have had this warranty for over 3 years and only used it twice, both times for A/C a year apart. This last time, the technician THEY sent can't fix the problems and suggests a new system. Of course, AHS denies that--says the issue is not normal wear and tear. The system is 20 years old! Customer Services is the WORST !! I have literally spent over an hour on more than one occasion trying to understand the script readers. Offered a "cash in lieu" and told to fix it myself.
