I have had the home warranty with AMS for several years. I have been happy with the plan and the technicians that have come out have been very nice, able to fix the problem and reliable until my recent service request. I submitted a request to have my washer fixed, the contractor called me, set an appointment and never showed up. I took an entire day off work to sit and wait. No calls from the contractor. American Home shield does only one thing good, and that is covering what they say they cover. When it comes to hiring people that get the job done in a timely manner, they do not have that. Our Central A/C system went out yesterday. The past three days has been in excess of 100* , and continuing for the next three or four days. After assessing the problem, they ordered a part, which may take three or four days to receive. The best AHS can do, offering $125 !!! That won't cover the cost for a portable A/C and maybe one night in a motel room !! They have no problem taking our money, but when it comes to the consumer..........they are a long way off!!! Poor selection and vetting process of contracting firms

Generally long waits for appointments. Most repair people do their job poorly. Takes 6 months to get a broken dishwasher or air conditioning system replaced when their techs can't figure out how to fix it. Zero interest in doing anything quickly or convenient for the home owner.
