AHS provider said my furnace was not accessible so could not be replaced. A local provider (not an AHS provider) said of course it could and replaced it quickly and expertly. I received a very small payment from AHS. My toilet is leaking and the AHS provider said he could not do it because it has an older, now not allowed in California, part and cannot put in a newer toilet that is legal because that would be an upgrade which AHS does not allow. 40 characters cannot due my dissatisfactions any justice. To put it simply, I had to call several times and repeat my situation each and every time. I would assume that proper documentation of my issue was insufficient and the reps had no idea what was going on. And still my situation has not been resolved!!!
Average wait time when calling is around 45 minutes. Although, you may submit a work request electronically, you need to call when the repair is inadequate (which is common). They don't return your calls, while promising to, thus, necessitating numerous follow up calls. They generally send out minimally qualified people who just want to collect the flat service fee. Good for small appliances such as the dishwasher and washer machine, will get it fixed for a small service fee which gives me piece of mind. However, will give the hardest time to have larger more costly systems repaired. So far have spent $125 three times trying to have my ac unit fully repaired or replaced. When you read contract basically says it’s covered (except for cost of Freon) but then they give you a breakdown of what’s not covered so it doesn’t make sense. My contract clearly says that " contracted services will be initiated " within 48hrs after " your service request is made to AHS" on their 24/7 submission page. This is not true. From what the reps told me... after I spent nearly an hour on hold on the phone (the online chat tool was down most of the day)... if you submit a request, for example, on Friday evening, after business hours, the contractor has all weekend off and then has 24hrs to contact you the next Monday. I'm truly surprised by all the glowing AHS Reviews. I guess I'm one of the unlucky few that has had to make multiple follow-up calls regarding resolution status with an outstanding home repair. I fully also understand peak call coverage requires some wait time, but for the record on the 3 times I've called AHS, there's been an avg. of 20-30 wait time/call. I have just received the worst customer service ever. AHS charged me a deductible twice for the same repair within a 30 day period and refuse to remove the charge because it was requested online instead of calling them??!! THEIR WEBSITE directs us to do it online because it is faster and so does the automated phone #. The wait times on the automated system is absolutely horrendous. Repairmen came to my house and in addition to the fixed service charge, they asked for more cash to fix the problem even though it was covered under warranty. They could not explain why they were asking for $200 more! Whereas, they reported to the office that I denied the service. THAT was a lie. And I had to shell out $100 as the service fee for getting fraudulent quote and erroneous reporting.
