Repairmen came to my house and in addition to the fixed service charge, they asked for more cash to fix the problem even though it was covered under warranty. They could not explain why they were asking for $200 more! Whereas, they reported to the office that I denied the service. THAT was a lie. And I had to shell out $100 as the service fee for getting fraudulent quote and erroneous reporting.
I have been a customer for seven years plus and I have seen the quality of service degenerate greatly over time. I am considering changing from this service. When you call in to get service I have had to wait more than a hour just to get an agent on the phone. When they do get to you, they have to ask you the same question that the automated prompter already has asked you. They failed to help me when a service person they contracted charged me cash for service but did not do any work. He left my property and refused to answer my calls and so did AHS.
Horribly slow to respond to claims and absolutely no follow-up. If you want to chase them around, they are the company for you. They are Johnny on the spot when it comes to taking the cash for their payments every month. I have a claim I filed 45 days ago and no one has looked at my gas boiler yet. I am just praying it does not get too cold before they decide to help.
Customer service is terrible. Have never called and had a wait time of less than 1 Hour. I have requested to speak to a supervisor on several occasions, but one has never returned the call. I have tried to cancel this agreement, but they have to call you to confirm and will not call me. Just a bunch of bogus.
Horrible!!!! They will take your money every week like clockwork but once you need them they are cold, unfriendly and offer no customer service needs in your favor!!! I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Take it from my experience find another company!!!!!
It would have been much nicer if I could talk to someone. I had an issues and tried to call on several occasions to be told the next agent would be available in 45 min. to an hour. I don't have time to wait for someone to talk to and this happened every times I called. So, bottom line, your customer service sucks big time.
My overall rating of the company is not on the chart. I have been with this company for fifteen years. I had the most respect for them and sent others to them. 2017 did it for me. When I find something good I stick with it even if there is a little flaw. We are not perfect, but please don't ignore me and that's what this company did to me. My experience with American Home Shield so far has not been that good. I was disappointed with the process of the on-line request for service and not being able to talk to a live person on the phone. Also the limited selection of companies available to come service the problem seemed limited and there was no way to communicate with AHS to get a different company. Just overall not a good experience.
