I called for a dishwasher repair. On the day of the repair, after the Sears tech had not shown up by noon, I called Sears and found that they had cancelled the visit and not told me. The next available appointment was over a month out. I called AHS, but got nowhere with the automated system, so left a comment on the Facebook page. I was told I would be responded to quickly, but it has now been over two months and I have never been contacted by AHS. After the initial contact it has been impossible to contact the company to go to the next step of replacement of the appliance. I was on hold for hours each tine I tried to get some information. My situation makes it almost impossible to sit and wait on the phone. Also on the policy being sold to he, it was stated most claims are paid in 48 hours on average. Not in my case obviously . I’ve had 2 AHS warranties and have been very disappointed with both. Very little is actually covered when you put in a claim. Their electrician lied on his report so that my repair wouldn’t be covered. Three additional electricians came to my house and said my repair should’ve been covered. American Home Shield has rude customer service reps who will raise their voice on the phone with you if you disagree with them. I will never purchase another warranty from AHS.
I have been with AHS for a long time, but lately it seems more difficult to talk to someone about service or my account. Also it is taking longer to get a response and a repair.
If I could give a NEGATIVE RATING IT WOULD BE -5 STARS! The 2nd failure of the company for me and now that I've seen these reviews, I'm not surprised. If you are considering buying a warranty from American Home Shield, please don't waste your money. Research further, read more reviews, and save yourself the frustration of dealing with this failure or an organization.
The absolute worst experience in customer service and service. They cant provide a service they promised. Poor employee training and service.
I requested a plumbing service, no call for 4 days. I was without hot water the entire time. Plumber showed up, gave his recommendations AHS denied the claim, I have had water heater problems since. I tried to contact AHS for resolution and was on hold for over an hour multiple times! I requested to have my service fee refunded for breach of contract, I was denied and again put on hold, unable to speak with anyone!
The approve a duct work repair and sent someone to fix it. The guys couldn't get under the house because of the low crawl space. So American Home Shield sent another letter saying my service request was denied because of animals damaging my ductwork. Reported the to BBB, but nothing was done.
i bought a town home 8 weeks ago, today. the age of home is 20 yrs. since I moved in, i'm hearing 'drips,' inside the walls, in the master bathroom and in the guest bathroom, upstairs. and upstairs and downstairs when the dishwasher and the washing machine are on. it's not a steady drip and not all the time. i haven't seen any obvious signs of leaking water. the 2 tech's that came to my property (mid afternoon on Friday) were very friendly and nice.
