After having AHS for 4 months, I decided to cancel my plan. I called twice for service and both times nothing was fixed at my home. And I'm still waiting for a refund. The worst company I've ever dealt with.
I have been a customer of American Home Shield for 10 years. Most of those years have been OK. This year is different because AHS has had to replace several expensive items (oven, cooktop, some plumbing) they decided to put my contract as non renewable or to nearly double my monthly cost. They did this without telling me. I learned about this today when I called and asked about my 2017-18 contract
Waiting to speak to a representative is the absolute worst. I've called to speak to a representative at different times and on different days. The wait time has always been greater than 30 minutes and 1 hour in some instances and have even been disconnected, had to call back, only to have to start the process over again.
I am still trying to get a dishwasher repaired with my initial claim requesting service on 5/25/17. I've made several, more the 15, attempts to contact the assigned technician, and no return call. Today alone I as on hold for 1 hour and 42 minutes before I spoke to someone at AHS. Inot the last month I've been on hold in excess of one hours only to be disconnected.
It takes more than an hour on hold for customer service. I went two weeks without heat even though I asked to have a different company come for a 2nd opinion. I informed AHS about the questionable company sent for the repairs. When I stated my heater was not working, I didn't know I had to tell them there were two units, so when they came to fix my heater, they only fixed one unit. We had a problem with a plumber and they do not back their venders mistakes you are on your own. If I use a company and they say I have to use their vender they should help me if they make a mistake. The plumbing company still will not help me with their mistake or call me back.
When I call customer service, I expect to be on hold for 30-60 minutes before you speak with a representative. My shortest call with American Home Shield has been 35 minutes and my longest 124 minutes. The online system works when everything runs smoothly but some of their contractors are very very poor. I have had luck about 3/5 contactors in the past 5 months. AMERICAN HOME SHIELD IS NO HELP! DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!! I was on hold 4 times for over 50 minutes! I stayed home for 3 days from work waiting for deliveries/workmen, WHICH NEVER CAME! I feel like they don't value their customers time AT ALL! IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH SINCE I HAVE HAD A WORKING DISHWASHER AND OVEN!!!!!!!!
