Very inconsistent on billing practice. We wren't informed of an outstanding bill until we tried to have service again. We paid that one and the next was to be charged 2 days later. We start getting nasty notes saying we are delinquent and have tried to call the company to clean up the misunderstanding. VERY FRUSTRATED!

So far, American Home Shield has better coverage than First American Home Buyers, BUT their customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE. I will not use them another year and am contemplating cancelling now as I type this. I have literally been on the phone (on hold) with them over an hour for a call with an estimated 30 minute wait time. They have denied a claim and not notified me as to why. Been trying to get my water heater valve fixed for 6 weeks . The repair company showed up took my money and never came back. He cashed the check on May 30th today is July 5th. Have called American Home Shield about five times and he says he is coming then needs a part then went out of town or he didn't answer and they did a recall.. The company tells me today they have no one else on their list that can come out. Each time I call them I am on hold a minimum of 45 minutes waiting for a customer representative. If you use the internet to set up up the request for help you are ok but if you need to talk to customer service you Re on the phone for over an hour on hold. This is unacceptable.

We have had AHS for several years. This year has been the worst for them. We called about a ceiling fan not working. They sent out an electrician from A-Z Electric. He determined that the fan would need to be replaced. I specially asked the electrician if the replacement fan would be exactly the same with all the features. He replied yes and that AHS would contact us if something went wrong. Never heard from AHS but A-Z Electric called and stated they would be here to install the fan. No problem. Extremely dissatisfied with American Home Shield. We have been without a washing machine since December 27th. They initially sent out Bracewell Repair. The man who came to our house not only owns the company, but is the sole employee. After getting authorization to order parts through AHS he never came back!!!! He will not take our calls or AHS calls or emails. Worst service I ever had. Denied authorization of items that were supposed to be repaired according to contract. Never got a return call from them to indicate why my service was denied only calls that were made were by me no one from this service ever call me back even unto this day.

I get that they are trying to contain their costs, but they consistently do not have enough people to answer their phones. No matter what day, what time of day, you will not reach someone to speak with in less than 45 minutes. Service techs complain of the same. It’s taken over 3 weeks for my service tech to get approval to order parts we need. Completely unacceptable. While I never thought what other reviews said would happen to me with this company, after the first year the level of Client service has continually declined as the price rose, and the service people they are working with in our area are the bottom of the barrel. I've had to recuse a company off our claim because it took them 3.5 weeks to be able to schedule an appt to come out to view my problem item, now the item less than 30 days post repair is acting up again and it’s already been 3 weeks since our second call and AHS an... read more
