40 minute wait time with customer service. Horrendous communication from AHS and contractor. AHS is a complete disaster.
They use lowball service outfits to nickel and dime you out of the service you've paid for. My 30 year old air conditioning system had been warranted by them for more than twenty years. When it failed, the idiot they sent out to diagnose and repair claimed I needed a part that would take 30 days of Georgia summer to get. I was able to get a second opinion, only to find out that this part is obsolete, and is not available anywhere for any amount of money. I had to pay for two tickets to fix one problem. The swimming pool equipment was not repaired on the first trip by Expert Pools and so the service technician wrote that the plumping needs repair on a second trip. AHS understood that the house plumping needed repair and decided that a second fee would apply. I tried to explain but no one would listen and understand.
The majority of service has Ben positive until the last request. Needed someone who could move a thermostat. Service associate that was sent was not able to help us. My understanding is that we would not be charged since service was not completed. Was charged. Called American Hime Shield to set up another visit. Did not get call back. We are left without issue being resolved.
For the past 4 years America Home Shield service has been awful-the quality of work done has been incomplete, caused other problems, and well-over $12,000 out of my own pocket!
I am not going to bore anyone with any fluff Im just going to give you the facts!! 1) My garbage disposal went out and I called AHS to come and fix, I paid my $75.00 fee and the guy came out....but when he got there he said he needed to replace a pipe by law on the garbage disposal and that he would have to charge me $65.00 to do so. At that price ($135.00) I could have bought the disposal myself and changed it. I hate this company and I am going to end my business with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was unfortunately very disappointed in the service provided by AHS. It began with unnecessarily long call wait times (over an hour every time I called no matter the time, day or night), then continued with poor customer service, and unknowledgeable service teams. It took 3 air conditioning companies and an electrician (after telling us initially we needed close to a $1k worth of work, most of which would not be covered by our policy) to finally determine that all it needed was some refrigerant. I have had an issue with my mini split air conditioner since April of 2017. American Home Shield has still not been able to repair or replace my unit..very disappointed indeed. It is now the end of October and still no results..really?
