They are crooked and will try to cheat you out of any high dollar repair like air conditioning or heater replacement. I fought with them for 3 months over a 38 year old unit they would not replace And so I did without any air conditioning during the hottest part of the summer time. Because They were trying to rip me off I also did not have heat until I paid a second service fee the repairman came back and found a cracked heat box. Awful. Just a terrible experience. We received a one year home warranty from the seller when we purchased our home. The refrigerator and microwave both weren't working. After 6 service appointments (one where the technician no call, no showed), wasted hours, and FIVE WEEKS WITH NO FRIDGE we cancelled our warranty. We had 2 service appointments for the microwave and it still doesn't work. We took the remainder of the money refunded ($363 from the $600 paid for the year) and put that towards a fridge. Your customer service sucks. 45 min to an hour is unbelievable. This is our first and last contract with this company.

It's literally impossible to speak to a human on the phone, unless you want to wait on hold for over an hour. We had a Trash Compactor that was deemed not repairable. We chose to purchase a new one and AHS would reimburse us. It took a good month emailing our proof of purchase for them to finally say they had it. It then took another 2 months to receive reimbursement.

If you need basic service its great, easy to book online, immediate call to book appt, techs show up, call when late. If you have a problem - good luck. Some service people are totally inept, some are good. If you have an issues you cant get through, over an hour on hold every time to speak with a person. If you want to reach a different department no contact info published on their website, no address to write to. Washer broke, tech left a wet mess and walked out, had no clue, said it was beyond repair. There is no way to f... read more

We have been trying for nearly a year to get an ice maker repaired. First they sent a contractor who couldn't fix it. Then they sent GE who said they will not work on it because someone opened it up. Then they sent another contractor who said they couldn't fix it and would tell AHS to send someone else. Instead, AHS closed the ticket as completed. So we started all over and went through the same cycle two more times. We have now had 10 visits with no resolution to the problem. Each time we have to get them to restart the tic... read more

Absolute garbage. The worst, most unhelpful, unorganized business with whom I've ever dealt. They should be shut down forever. they don't care about their customers and only play the game to avoid having to pay out. UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!

Fairly good as long as the contractor they select for you is OK. Make sure you do not have an electric problem, the guys they select ("Safe electric") are incompetent and dishonest looking at any excuse NOT to fix your problem.

I was not sure what to experience with a home-warranty service. Shortly after I moved into my new home, I had two immediate issues that needed to be addressed. Both issues required multiple technicians to be called out, because the first person sent by American Home Shield was unable to do the job properly. This was frustrating and time-consuming.
