We had a hot water heater problem and I had to have two different technicians. I had one technician that came out twice and then after the second visit, I still wasn't satisfied with his work. I requested a second one, and the second one that came out was by the name of Jeremy and he was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what he's doing. I know this because I have an extensive electrical background, so I know what he was doing and how he was doing it. I had a very good service with him. When fill up with water, the washing machine would not drain or retch. My wife went online and set up an appointment. GE Appliances came out and the technician was great. He was nice and polite. Everything went good.
The sewer was backing up in the basement. AHS said we would hear from somebody 24 hours from when the claim was put in. We did the claim on a Sunday and I got a call on Monday. The person told me they couldn't come out until later that week and to call back. When I called back, they sent somebody out that day. He did a good job.
It's been a very positive experience with American Home Shield, particularly with a new home. When my wife spoke to the representative, they said that someone would be contacting us within the next 24 hours. The contractor came out and determined what the problem was. They had to order the parts then they came back a second time in order to install the circuit board that was broken on one of our air conditioning units. I got a brand-new unit, and then all of a sudden, it stopped working. It was the evaporator coil up in the attic. I alerted Home Shield online. That was the first time I did it online. It was super easy. Where I got contacted and the service scheduled was pretty quick. A-US was really good. I had a problem a week later, but they came right back out and fixed it. The leak has been going on quite a while. It was about two weeks ago was when it first started. I got the person to come in and he seemed to fix the problem but it wasn't completely gone. 10, 11 days later, the problem came back. That was when I called them last week Friday. They sent somebody immediately and it was more than one leak. They fixed some problem last Friday but they had to go back to American Home Shield to find out what my coverage is because we have to remove stuff. They're coming back tomorrow. The pump was making a really bad noise and it was leaking. I went through the internet to submit the claim but it didn't give me very good options to select what the problem was. It just gave me the option of pump or plumbing and it didn't give me a way to describe what was going on. They could put in a box so we can put some information or pictures. After I sent in the claim, they said it would be a couple of days for the contractors to come out and they contacted me. Everything was good.
I understand there's COVID and some backlog, but if you have a downed freezer, you shouldn't have to wait three months to get it fixed. We noticed that the entire side of the freezer was frosting over very thickly. It was having freezing drizzle, frozen ripples down the freezer wall. It was making ice on top of the shelves.
