American Home Shield has been a lifesaver. However, it's hard to understand them, and it's hard for them to understand us. That's because of customer service outsourcing that all the companies do, but it's not their fault. The reps are very professional and courteous, and they try very hard and do a good job. I also had a refrigerator repaired and the repairman was great.
I had to wait a couple of days before American Home Shield could get somebody to come out. When the contractor came out, we stayed outside and we were very cordial. He didn't need to come inside at all to take care of anything. I showed him how I had been jerry-rigging the power. He said that I needed a part, which was what I told them when I called. Our AC quit cooling. The technician quickly responded to me to let me know that they were set to come service, and they would serve us the next day. I was given a tracking, so I was able to know exactly what time they would arrive. They arrived within five minutes of their window and resolved the issue within a half hour. They had the parts on them and they got it done. It’s running wonderful right now. I thought they did a great job. I'm going to use them again to do maintenance on my heater.
The claim was easy to do and the representative on the phone was nice. It was a pleasant experience with customer service. DNG Appliance and Services came in, they said who they were and why they were coming and then they did the job. They left it clean, and they left the house with no problem. It was perfect. The fact that American Home Shield came out twice for me with no problem with the claim was fantastic as well.
I had a very good experience with American Home Shield. They were very competent, reliable and prompt. I usually call them when I submit a claim because I have their phone number on my phone. They usually assign me to a local repair shop and then, this repair shop calls me an hour later, and sets up an appointment. Before you know it, they are fixing the problem. So, it’s very easy. He was great and very personable. He had a mask on and he put the booties on so he wouldn’t get stuff all over my carpet. When he came out the first time, he didn't have the part so he had to order it. Then I was gone for three weeks so he had to wait until I got back. But he was super. Getting somebody out to go look at the microwave is okay. The contractors are good. The one who came and looked at the microwave was really informative and knew what he was doing. But getting it replaced, we were on hold for two or three different times for over three hours each time before we got to talk to anybody. We still hadn't gotten it replaced yet because it took so long for us to get through. A lot of times we just couldn't stay on hold that long. Antech came out for an appliance issue. It was the second time we've utilized them, and they did great both times. It took a little longer than we liked, but we were willing to wait because they had done us a good job before. We asked for a specific technician, and he wasn't available for about two weeks. The appliance in question wasn't an immediate concern, so we just waited for them. I submit claims online with American Home Shield and it’s pretty easy. Recently, contractors came and they replaced the knob on my sink and my showerhead. They were fine. American Home Shield is also good to work with.
