It's difficult to try to get a claim in. Everything is automated, but with people in their 60s or going on their 70s, it's hard to navigate that way. When you go through the phone, it gets a little difficult. It could be more streamlined, but that's only a suggestion for older people. Everybody's not tech-savvy to go online to do that. Maybe one day, I'll call when I have an opportunity to try to set up the online and how that works. That's on me for the lack of knowledge, but I'll get there.I've had a home maintenance progr... read more

Beaches Air Conditioning came out for our AC and it now seems to be working fine. Beaches was good. They were on time and they did the job they were supposed to. Everything went smoothly. American Home Shield is good. We like them. We had it for many years and then we tried a couple different other ones. We just went back to Home Shield this year. We like their service and the company better.

Submitting claims to American Home Shield has been easy. For one of my previous claims involving my dryer though, I had to get their contractor out on four different occasions. I asked AHS not to use that same company for us but because they had been to our location previously, they had to. I kept telling the contractor to replace my thermostat and he kept cleaning it and trying to do all these other things. Finally, they told me that there was nothing else they could do. So, finally, AHS ended up getting my problem resolved... read more

I had a problem with the range hood. The exhaust fan was not working. Initially, I opened the ticket back in July and they told me that they would replace the fan. They ordered the fan and they were waiting for that order to be executed. But somehow that ticket was lost and when I followed up, they said the ticket has been closed. I reached out again to AHS in mid-September and the ticket has to be opened again. The same technician came by and he apologized saying, “Yes, we should have taken care of you.” This time, he order... read more

I'm on my third contract with American Home Shield. The seller of the home that I purchased from was required to give me one year, then I purchased last year’s and I just renewed it recently. The first claim was for a hot water heater. They replaced it with a new one. I also had an air conditioning unit issue back then. Then last year, I had an issue with the refrigerator. The contractor came out three or four times. American Home Shield finally replaced it and that was a simple process. I chose to do an upgrade through them... read more

Great, timely service. All the technicians were very professional and extremely knowledgeable. My stovetop, dishwasher, garbage disposal and electrical problems were all fixed within two weeks.

In today's world with so many complicated appliances and other things that American Home Shield covers, I would recommend it to people once those things are out of warranty because it costs a lot for any repairs to them. I pay American Home Shield the standard fee to be paid for each repair then they cover everything else. They're up front about that. You always know what it is. It hasn't changed since I had them so there are no surprises. That's good. My recent experience with them went well. The contractor came when they s... read more

The last claim was for the sump pump. It was broken and it kept putting back the water that it tried to pump out. I did everything online. I got the contractor name, they called me immediately, and I might have gotten it done the same day or the next day. It was serviced by PHD Mechanical. The pump is working really well.Home Shield has been very good so far. We have already done four requests, and all of them in general were very good, except for the one time the contractor was bad. Once I complained to Home Shield, they as... read more

There was a time when I couldn't get my heater to fire up. I tried to fix it myself but I couldn't get it to start heating the water. I put in an email to American Home Shield that I needed help. They had Vilandre come and help me and that contractor had a cancellation that day so they came over within 15 minutes. When I had attempted to fix the heater, I got the pilot light lit but I didn't turn the unit back to neutral so it would fire up. The techs from Vilandre went and within five seconds, they turned it back to neutral... read more
