The process of going through American Home Shield was initially kind of difficult. I had something pop up on the account where it said there was a past due balance even though I had already spoken to a manager about that after about three or four tries. Initially, I spoke with a representative to update my contract. When I spoke with that representative, I asked, "When will this be in effect?" He said, "As soon as we hang up, it'll be in effect." The microwave oven was not working and the tech that AHS sent out was very friendly and professional. He said it was not repairable so, I had to call American Home Shield to verify about a replacement. Then, I had to measure the length, the width, and diameter of the oven. After, I had to order it and I did that already this morning. I'm now waiting for them to deliver and install it.
A friend of mine asked me about American Home Shield and she went ahead and got it. They are pretty nice people to work with and there's a low payment each month. We’ve had three different things and American Home Shield went ahead and tried to fix everything that we needed. They did good. I got dual sinks in the bathroom. The two sinks come together and then it drops and goes down and hit the main pipe before it goes out to the sewage. I live in the country so I'm mostly on septic. So the pipe that went down at the bottom had a stoppage from 10 years of usage in the bathroom. We called the claim in on Friday and Immediate Response was to come out the following Tuesday. When I submit a claim with AHS, I just go online and boom! Click-Click! I submitted a claim because I had a faucet in a tub that wouldn't turn off. I was extremely happy with the vendors that AHS sent. I put the claim in late in the day and they came out the next day and fixed it. It was all good. I wish American Home Shield charged me less. I sent in a claim online for the oven and the contractor that came out was very professional. I'm waiting for a new oven to show up now.
The AC would sound like it turned on but it would be loud. You could hear electric currents so we shut it all off because we were afraid that there was something wrong electrically for it. The contractor came out and changed the motor in the attic unit. Then, he changed something on the outside too. So far, everything's fine. American Home Shield referred me to somebody else, but they weren't gonna be able to come out for a couple of weeks. I called back and then they referred me to this guy. He was good.
I got a technician that went in early this year who put a capacitor in the AC but he didn't check everything to see if air was coming through. The gentleman from South Placer that was here the last time was thorough, professional and friendly. He put a fan up in there, plus the antifreeze and he checked the vents and if air was coming out, so I had no problems. It still doesn't get down to 70. We just bought the home and we had it rekeyed. We submitted the claim online to American Home Shield and the website worked beautifully. Initially, the contractor was going to call in a couple of days and he would arrange to come out. It was exactly as AHS would’ve portrayed. Everything has been working perfectly since then.
