Our air conditioner stopped working and we called in American Home Shield. They sent us a tech from the company they work with and he was nice. It turned out to be an easy fix and everything seems to be in working order. The experience with AHS was simple and effective.
I had a dryer and the heating unit wasn't working. The guy came in and he was very pleasant and very professional. He took care of it by replacing the heating unit. He wore a mask and I appreciated it. He was very responsible. American Home Shield worked out fine. The only unfortunate thing is it took two weeks to get the appointment which is kind of a drag. I was also supposed to get a $25 Amazon card because my sister-in-law signed up through the app but I haven't seen that yet.
I submitted a claim to American Home Shield for the icemaker and the contractor was very good. He checked it out, had to order a part and was back within a week. He had it done in five minutes and the icemaker has been working perfectly since then. I had problems with my air conditioning and when I called AHS one time, I went through a couple of contractors but then they found a good one that I liked. Now, they're getting more qualified contractors out there and I like that.
I was notified by the city that I had a water leak that couldn't be found. After research on the property, we found out that it was a water line from my house to the road. So After Work Plumbing came out to check my house to see if any leak was around my house anywhere and it wasn't. They did what they were supposed to do. Best Care Home Services did a great job. They actually read what I put in my trouble ticket request because they came to the front door with the equipment they needed to do the repair. They didn't have to go back to the truck. They walked in and was ready to do the repair. They were also wearing masks. They were done in probably 10 or 15 minutes. The dryer wouldn't start and it was pretty easy to call AHS and schedule an appointment for it. Appliance Repair Services did a good job. Their tech came out and he fixed the problem. The dryer has been fine since. It was a great experience. I've just bought a house and I know a repair can be expensive, so Home Shield helps.
The gentleman that came was very nice, but you had sent him to the wrong address! I moved 2 years ago and you first sent him to my old home. My correct address is in your system, so I don't understand why you pulled up an address which is no longer valid - the old address is not in my profile.
My first experience was a little hard because when I signed up, they had promised me two or three months free and they were gonna waive my fees. When I first had to use it, I had to go two or three days before everything got verified and taken care of. I still don't know whether they have waived my two months yet. I’m still waiting to see. We were with Sears, but Sears was closing up shop locally here in our area. We shopped around and thought American Home Shield was rated well. We thought, “Let's just go with them.” We got an offer to have the heating system checked for $75 so, we went ahead and signed up for that.
