The air and the heat wouldn't stay on. It kept clicking off. Neither one of them was working. The tech went under the thing and he said the circuit board was bad, so they ordered us a part. I like the way that American Home Shield does the photo thing where I get on my phone and I can show them the issue on the phone. Plus, they send it to the repair guys to get an idea ahead of time. When my washing machine went out, the guy I talked to at American Home Shield sent me a link that went to my phone. Then when I clicked on the link, he called me and we were able to do a video call and I showed him exactly what was going on with the washing machine. ACE Heating and Cooling seemed like a good company and I've had them out twice, but we didn't get to do anything. They couldn't install the parts ‘cause I had a roof soffit and there was no room. A roof truss is blocking anyone from being able to install the proper air conditioning outlet vent. The two options are that the roof support could be moved, which they said they're not authorized to do, or I could just seal it up and not have that air conditioning vent anymore. A & K Appliance did a great job. They analyzed the problem, fixed it, and everything is great. Inside the dryer itself, fuzz had accumulated so it wasn't drying properly. The guy said he has never seen anything like that and pictured just to show all his buddies. He just got all the fuzz out of there, and boom, it works great. We will keep Home Shield going. We often end up paying for something that would have cost us more than if we didn't have it. We certainly saved a lot of money in many years.
SJDI reached out quickly with the schedule and they got a guy out the next day. He was able to correct the issue pretty quickly. Everything was fine.
I would recommend City First just with the home warranty or without because the guy fixed my breaker. He explained to me what was going on. He made me feel comfortable. He kept his face mask on and kept his distance. Even when I had to come closer so he could explain, he had his proper PPE on. He did a good job. My air handler in the house wasn't working. I believe there was a blown motor. So, I called the contractor in through Home Shield. It was incredibly easy. You can do everything online. It’s a lot easier than calling and waiting on hold for somebody to pick up. I had two separate technicians come out. They were both really nice and easy to get along with. They fixed the AC. It was a quick and easy experience with American Home Shield. They're very good. We had no hot air and Maselli Contracting came out. They're great.
I had my dad cleaning out my AC unit and he said that there was a wire burned inside. So, my dad told me to go ahead and have someone come and look at it. I did the claim online to American Home Shield and the website was very easy to navigate. It said that I would get a call within 24 hours but then it also gave me the option to call on my own to schedule my own appointment.
