Water was leaking from the freezer and it was freezing on the bottom, so I couldn't close the door. I submitted a claim with AHS and the tech they sent out took one of the coils out. He told me what he was doing and he either cleaned it out or adjusted it to where it would let the ice go through there and work properly. All in all, I've had really good experience with AHS and I've found that they're a very good company. But they're so high priced. My mom has a number of American Home Shield saved on her phone that we usually call when we need repairs. It said that our plumber would call us within 10 to 30 minutes, which they did. The pipe burst and the plumber came and tightened it but we thought it was broken. He was very professional and he fixed it right away. It's all been good since he's been out. AHS is excellent.
I had plumbing that was leaking and running all the time. I logged into Home Shield's website to submit a claim. It asked me a couple of questions and I filled out their form. Before I knew it, I was getting a phone call from their plumber to make sure that I knew that they were aware of me and that our appointment would be on a certain date. There was a clog and it was leaking water all over my compressor and there was water leaking all over my basement floor. American Home Shield said I could use somebody else and then they would pay for it. After I made the appointment with the other guy, which I had to cancel, I later found out they could come the next day, which was sufficient for the claim. We had repairs for the refrigerator done and I was especially pleased with this particular contractor who came out. He was excellent. American Home Shield has been good and prompt. I have lots of friends using them.
My disposal was stuck and I tried calling American Home Shield but it was horrible. I was on hold for almost 10 minutes and then I called back again and waited. I did it one more time but the wait-time for someone to answer was ridiculous. So I went online and it was a better experience to book online than to call. But if someone was older, it would be very frustrating if they weren't real savvy with the internet. When the tech came, the disposal just needed an Allen wrench to turn something at the bottom. The lights on the ceiling fan would work but the fan went out completely. I did the claim online and there was a delay in the contractor coming out because American Home Shield’s system didn't put the claim in when I called. So I had to call back. The claim was submitted but there was a glitch in the system. It took almost a little over a week for them to get in contact with the contractor.
