I've had a policy with **** for over ten years and made my first claim today. My HVAC unit nearly caught on fire and they will not cover any part of the repair, labor or parts because it is under a manufacturer's parts-only warranty for two more years. Listen when people tell you not to trust this company, they will find a way not to pay your claim and there's nothing you can do about it.

Do not use this company. I had a part of a toilet break and cause thousands of dollars of damage to a home I purchased 2 days prior. They found a minuscule reason to deny the claim that the plumber specifically said was not the issue and that it was normal wear and tear (which is explicitly covered in the contract) yet decided they know better than a professional and denied the claim. MY APHW came with the house I bought in November. In January the heat pump located in my garage went out. It took several phones calls and emails just to get a claim started. Then the contractor must call APHW while on site to discuss the repair which was only $160 less my $50 deductible so only a $110 claim...THEY DENIED THE CLAIM stating that only the "CENTRAL HEATING SYSTEM" was covered and not my garage heat pump and I should have read the FINE print. This company came with the house purchase, just had to pay a monthly fee. We used them once for a cheap repair for our tub and it was fine, maybe a $60 fix. However their site says something like, "things break, your wallet shouldn't". Well, our furnace went out from normal wear and tear, (its an 18 year old unit), and the contractor stated as such to APHW. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Their gimmick is they allow you to select your own vendor to make the repairs and they only cover UP TO a certain amount. My deductible is only $100 and both time I opened claims I was out of pocket $479 the first time and $294. They speak to the technician and you can hear them toggling in their minds how to NOT pay claims. You select the vendor and when they arrive you are left holding the bag and having to pay WAY MORE than your deductible. I absolutely HATE this company and will... read more

Zero Stars, if I could have given less stars, I would Highly recommend that NO ONE use this insurance company. Unfortunately this is the warranty company that came with the closing for my mothers new home purchase and they have done everything in their power not too pay out. They should also do a better job at training their associates because before getting any work done on our home we did reach out to the insurance company for clarity and was given information as far as pay out that they did not honor. this company should ... read more

We have opened two claims since buying our home. Its too obvious that they are focused on finding a reason to not pay anything. Highly recommend NOT using this company.

********************* on this warranty company! I wish I had read all the negative reviews first and not listened to our realtor about getting the warranty which cost us about $675 for the year and covered nothing. Now they raised the cost up to $975/year so I immediately cancelled the warranty. What a joke! I will put the money in the bank and pay for any repairs on my own without having to worry about getting their approval. Do yourself a favor and put your money in the bank instead of wasting it on this scam!

I think they talk a line of bullshit! Scammers just want your money put the payment into a savings account for ************! At least you will get interest on your money.
