I was stranded out of state and needed to get my car towed home. Found this site and they connected with a local group what would tow it. Not until an hour before the truck arrived when I Called them did they bother to tell me they wouldn’t take me as well. I totally get that there are rules about this but I specifically put in my request that I needed transportation and that was ignored when they set me up with this service. Car was picked up with 4 brand NEW tires. When car arrived in Florida, it LOOKED fine, BUT the left rear tire had been plugged (repaired). The tire went flat in 2 days. The new tire cost $ 205.95 BUT, naturally, they refused to pay because my neighbor “signed for it” BUT not realizing they had the tire repaired. ADD THIS TO THE MANY COMPLAINTS HERE ALREADY,AND DO NOT DEAL WITH MONTWAY AUTO TRANSPORT either, the broker who put me with this carrier. Absolutely horrible experience. Montway is a broker for transport companies. They can't actually tell you when the vehicle will be picked up or delivered, or even which carrier they will be using. I had a work order to transport a vehicle plus four wheels (rim mounted tires not installed on the vehicle). They quoted $200 if they could be shipped in the car (impossible for the car being shipped) or $500 if shipped outside the vehicle. I agreed to that exorbitant $500. My vehicle was damaged by a negligent and incompetent driver contracted by Montway to move my new car. The driver did not secure the car properly and the car rattled around in his substandard trailer for the entire trip from Texas to Colorado, becoming damaged to the tune of over $5K. What's more, the driver did not proactively address the damage, and I had to suss out what had happened myself. Additionally, the motor carrier's certificate of insurance was provided although it sounds as though no cargo claim was ever filed. We had a 5 day pick up window, They arranged to pick up on Oct 25. Delay delay picked up on the 27th. Said the car would arrive Az on Nov 1 with first pickup date. Then they sent me new arrival date as still Nov 1 I contacted them about this and they said they would check.Never got back with new date until a few days later to tell me the truck broke down. After conducting several hours of research, all reviews and the final decision for an enclosed transport pointed to Montway. From start to delivery of my classic car, I was both pleased and impressed with every single interaction with Montway professionals. The delivery driver was extremely kind and professional too. First time I ever have had to deal with such a shipment, and we were dealing with a family heirloom going back nearly 70 years. Montway was not only professional, but empathetic with us "firs timers" - The process was simple and pricing more than reasonable! Their customer service will not get back to you after you pay the fee. Additionally, they lied about the fee. Their share of the charged fee is about 40 to 45%. I will never use their service again.
