Short Version - Stay away from Bernie & Phyl's. 1) Salesmen will misrepresent the items to make a sale, 2) spill/stain warranty is impossible to abide by and B&P will do anything to not honor it. Long Version - Purchased a "Sunbrella" couch for over $2,200. Was told by a sales representative that this fabric would be more resistant to stains than a typical fabric In addition, he explained that they have an amazing stain/spill warranty that will leave us completely "Worry Free". I purchased a brand new ******* * ******mattress for $2,200. It arrived damaged, the seam was torn at the corner. I called customer service, they gave me a the runaround and then offered to either repair it or give me 10% back. When I told them the mattress was brand new and I wanted it replaced, they said it wasn't their policy and they would have to check and call me back, they NEVER called back. I paid top dollar for damaged merchandise and they refused to replace it. This is not a case of trying to exercise the warranty ... read more

The damage was reported 2 weeks after the delivery. While the receipt does state that all damage needs to be reported within 5 days, we did still offer options for resolution.

I purchased a coffee table from Bernie & Phyl’s about 3 years ago and bought the protection plan Last month I accidentally scratched the top of it in multiple areas because I needed to put something together and the screws from this item put scratches on the table (the towel I put on table slipped off in the process That same night my husband called to put the claim in (admitted it was our fault) and the representative on the phone said “that’s what the protection plan is for) We set up an appointment for Saturday September ... read more

Business response:

The wood protection plan is for accidental damage and all damages should be reported within 5 days. Multiple accumulation of damages is not covered by the protection plan. A technician was sent to the home. He found and took photos of multiple gouges, scratches and heat marks. There is extensive damages to the table.

TERRIBLE service and policies! Have owned a sectional for 4 months and it is broken - completely exploded. Took 2 weeks for someone to just come and view it (for ten minutes). 2 days later a voicemail was left to schedule a repair. Called and told them this was unacceptable but since it is their policy, it is my only option. Now I have to wait another week for them to come and pick it up for repair. Sofa has always looked sloppy and not what I expected. Will NEVER shop with Bernie & Phyl's again! Can't believe they have an A... read more

The sectional has been in the home since April. At this point the sectional is covered by the warranty. The warranty is a repair warranty. That repair is scheduled.

The sectional has been in the home since April. At this point the sectional is covered by the warranty. The warranty is a repair warranty. That repair is scheduled.

Terrible Customer Service!!! Bought a Sectional from Bernie & Phyl's in Braintree. It was delivered on June 21 and both recliners did not function properly and there was a tear in one of the corners... we called customer service while the delivery guys were in our home and were assured the recliners would be rectified. 3 weeks later on July 15th a technician came to the house and told my husband and I that this was a manufacture defect and that he could not fix it. The customer is outside of our service area, in NJ and therefore an third party technician was sent out to assess the set. The report we received states there is no defect. I have contacted the third party furniture service for clarification. We are more than happy to take care of any issues. At this point we have a report that states there is no defect to be fixed. I have been in contact with the customer and will continue to remain in contact with any further information.
