Although there are some good people I encountered at Better.com, working with them has been a ****-show from almost the very start. Each time you complete a few of their 'tasks' online, a brand new person from a brand new department calls you on your cell with no regard to setting up a time or thinking you might be traveling or in a meeting - they start hassling you to "complete your 14 NEW tasks..." - unbelievably annoying...Next, they sent me on a wild goose chase at ******* County public records to 'prove' that my home wa... read more

It’s a great experience to do a mortgage through this company. Everything is online which is a great convince you can email back and forth with the mortgage specialist. The only downfall is that you can’t close on the rate until you are under contract.
Home purchase. The team was great, pleasure to talk to all of them, they were helpful and my loan was funded on time. But I had to keep a close watch and go out of my way to keep things on track ,I felt I had to drive the whole process. I wouldn't recommend mortgage through better.com to someone that's not hands-on and doesn't understand most of what's being asked for. Got the closing documents the last day when I was scheduled to sign instead of 3 days prior for review.

Better mortgage was everything I expected to be and by far the most transparent mortgage broker I've worked with.
Lack of expertise. People didn’t really know the mortgage business, surprise increased in loan fees. Not optimal and asked for too much information.
