I was concerned about the negative reviews regarding follow-up and Better.com dropping the ball. My experience was a diametric contradiction of these reviews. My agents professional and almost ALWAYS picked up the phone..and if not - my call back would come within minutes, even if I didn't leave a message. Seemless, no fees, lender credits if you want. Everything online, pay attention to the website often and give them the answer they need. If you can handle that you will save a lot of money. Settled in 25 days, pretty impressive. Also preapproval fast, I contracted in one day, the house was going to go fast.
I was able to get everything I wanted with Better. I pit them against **** (which is awful for refinancing btw) and was able to get an attractive rate. Their online site makes it smooth and easy to upload the bunch of documents that is needed and know where you are in the process. Our Processing Expert (Brandon T*******) was a huge help at every step of the way. We encountered a lot of problems (not on Better's part) but eventually were able to close and couldn't be more happy with the result.
Better got me a great rate on a refi and found enough credits that I didn't end up paying anything out of pocket. That is the good of the company, although it should be noted that for a product like a conventional 30 year fixed you can pretty much get the same deals at any mortgage origination company. But the company has an impersonal decentralized workflow process which I did not enjoy. I put an offer in May and closed by on my due date. The process was easy; the request for information was uploaded timely and if anything was missing another request was placed in a timely manner and those who handled my mortgage responded timely. I would recommended Better.

I love that so much of the process was done online instead of over the phone. Very responsive and helpful team. Excellent interest rate from the first quote that other lenders were unable to beat even after multiple attempts.
