Matched a competitor's rock-bottom refi quote including dropping all points and a lender credit on top. Customer service response time during app process was a bit slow, though expected in a hot refi period. Web interface for uploading docs is top-notch. Closed in under a month. Would recommend.

Since the moment I talked to Roberto I knew I was going to get this loan. Roberto immediately put his capabilities to work and everything needed was appearing on my screen. Everything went smoothly from begging to end besides thanks to the help of Nic P**--there was another person involved; forgive me but I do not remember your name at this moment-- I will certainly recommend better.com to other friends.

I’ve done the mortgage and refinance process in the past and my experience with Better by far is the most efficient and smoothest from start to finish. I was skeptical at first as I trust more the old school way going to the bank/credit union but I am happy I pushed through with them.

Exceptional until rate lock. After that, customers need to be on top of things if they want their questions answered. It can get a bit frustrating and I would suggest customers do follow up with the title company themselves to get the right fees reflected in their final CD. It might have just been a case of them being bogged down with too many refinances. But then again, for a customer centric model would have expected better.

Better.com is misleading you if it is promising a discounted mortgage rate. Any savings it may offer are at the cost of customer service. The agents tasked to communicate with customers are slow to respond, completely lack the knowledge to answer any questions, and have abysmal customer service etiquette. Furthermore, Better.com falsely represents its appraisal costs. The website states that appraisal costs will be no more than $500, and that if the appraisal exceeds that cost, they will absorb the loss. In fact, they forced... read more

I had a wonderful experience with Better.*** and my entire loan team throughout the process. The website is extremely user friendly to use, very clear outline of each task that needed to happen along the way. I created an account super quick and within less than 10 minutes I had a custom pre-approval letter that allowed me to put in an offer for the house I ultimately ended up purchasing. Using Better.*** the was such a good choice. Everyone I worked with super helpful and very responsive. I was able to track my status with the website and felt very comfortable with the whole process. Definitely would recommend them to friends and family!

Working with Better was great. They were very up front with loan costs and other fees and terms which were daunting to us as first-time home buyers. The website interface was detailed and easy to use. They also offered us the best rate among the 5 or so lenders I shopped. My only concern was the communication issues between Better and either the realtor, the title company, or the insurance agent. I never had issues getting a hold of the representatives at Better but each of those listed above at some point in time complained... read more
