Excellent welcome from management and staff, always helpful. I enjoyed my two weeks stay for a second time, for respite care. Every member of staff did their best for me. Reception staff, excellent.

My mum went in for a period of respite care. Instantly the team were warm and welcoming. The Lodge building is beautifully designed and decorated. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum became relaxed and was made to feel at home there. Sadly, old age got the better of her after three and a half weeks and she passed away with dignity. The home is generally good, however, attention to personal hygiene and presentation could be better. The food always seems okay and meets the needs, staff numbers sometimes seem to be low. For the money paid, expect basic toiletries to be provided and not have to be supplied separately.

My mother has resided at The Lodge at Burcot Grange for almost a year and I cannot fault any aspect of her care. The thing that sets Burcot Lodge apart from its competitors is the fact that in addition to the care staff (who are outstanding), everyone who works at the home understands dementia. In January 2023, my mom arrived at The Lodge at Burcot Grange for respite care after she had spent four weeks in hospital followed by two weeks at home with carers - long term this was not suitable for Mom. I made arrangements to meet the admissions team at The Lodge at Burcot Grange, who were outstanding, so welcoming and so very kind, all the paperwork was explained in detail and arrangements were made for Mom to have a home assessment, nothing was too much trouble. My husband moved into Burcot Grange two years ago during Covid. My daughters and I felt safe and very anxious about the challenging change in our life. During Covid, the staff went above and beyond to help us keep in touch with my husband using online video calls and meetings in person, with PPE - masks and screens.
