I contacted the Lodge at short notice and arranged respite for Mum for two weeks. In no time at all, Mom looked well and settled, the empathy given by the staff was outstanding! It was lovely to see them getting to know the person behind the illness and giving her lots of encouragement and distractions that kept her busy and content! Thank you to all the staff for their remarkable care and attention!
My dad moved into Burcot in December 2020, after his Alzheimer's symptoms had unfortunately progressed to a stage where he was unable to live independently any longer. My sister-in-law has been at the Lodge since last summer and the compassion, dedication and kindness is breathtaking! The whole team go above and beyond to make sure their residents are happy, healthy and settled. My Dad has been a resident at Burcot Lodge for a year. His care is always personalised and staff know me and my mum by name. My dad is far less anxious, had much fewer falls and sleeps better since moving in. He says he feels safe and enjoys the excellent meals and care he receives. Access through covid for relatives has been exemplary.
Generally a nice, caring, environment. Occasional issues with the en-suite not being as clean as we would like and food not being as good as we would hope, bearing in mind the cost. Dad is bedridden so I cannot really comment on the activities as he is, for the most part, unable to participate. All the staff are friendly and respectful, the odd one being exceptional.
I cannot speak highly enough of Burcot Lodge. The staff are tremendously skilled and caring. In May 2021, Burcot Lodge were the only home prepared to care for Mum when her previous setting became unable to meet her needs. Their care has been instrumental in our mum becoming calmer and more settled and although her behaviour remains challenging as her dementia progresses. I feel we see the best she can be, due to the team at Burcot.
The warm and friendly welcome by staff continued throughout the two weeks stay over Christmas. All facilities and provisions were excellent at all times. Care and consideration was given, appropriate to each resident. This includes specific 'entertainment' activities. A first-class experience in every respect, giving both my wife and I an enjoyable experience in every way.
My wife became a resident at The Lodge in February 2021. Since then, I have visited her every day and therefore, been able to assess her care over almost a year. I find the Lodge at Burcot Grange to be of the highest possible standard, with no exceptions. All of the staff excel at caring for the residents and this is obvious on every one of my visits. I see the Lodge at Burcot Grange as a very happy and well cared for family. I could not have chosen a better care facility to entrust my wife to.
In the first instance, The Lodge at Burcot Grange is a stunning facility aesthetically, but it is the management and staff that make it a home. The brilliance of care for my mother, maintaining her dignity and always having a kind word for her, is reassuring and heartwarming.
