It's a tired old stand-by in the Lincoln Center area that was useful simply because it accepts brunch reservations and is not crazy expensive. We were initially given the worst table in the restaurant despite the fact that there were acres of empty tables when we got there. We were told that they were "reserved" – so apparently our Open Table booking was considered a second-class reservations, which I thought was odd -- it's not as if I'm paying less money for my meal (e.g., like Priceline bookings). The service was friendly... read more
My lunch salad was very expensive ($23), not large, and not very good.
Service was horrendous. We were four people. Soup for one guest arrived barely warm and waiter seemed annoyed when asked to have bowl heated up. When main courses arrived, one was missing. It was a platter of antipasto selections and therefore didn't need cooking. When asked where it was, waiter said it was being warmed .....when it finally arrived it was not the selection that had been ordered nor was it warm. He had obviously forgotten to put in the order. He only charged us for three main courses. Would have much preferre... read more
This was a pre-theater birthday celebration for my cousin. The staff was friendly & let you relax & decide on the drinks & menu. Menu was disappointing since there was not enough variety . There were more pasta dishes obviously since it is an Italian restaurant but they didn't even offer a regular house Italian salad. My friend ordered a personal pizza & my cousin ordered chicken ( 2 legs)which had a smear of white beans on the bottom of the plate & a sprig of parsley on top. For the price, it was a pitiful presentation. Eve... read more
We have been customers of Fiorello's for literally years and they have gone down dramatically. First, additional bar. Makes it almost impossible to get out of the back seating area, too much noise. Second, menu is much more limited. No lobster. Why ask if someone has a food allergy- my husband could not really find anything to eat on this downsized menu. Third, martinis get smaller and smaller. Fourth, service was awful:15 min. for bread and order. 45 min for food. Fifth, you won't see this pair of past loyal customers again... read more
Disappointing. This used to be excellent and maybe we got a bad night but the pizza was cold, the fish was dry and the service was terrible. It took over two hours to eat.
Cafe Fiorello has been a go-to- place for Pre-Lincoln Center performances for many years. But some line has been crossed recently. The place is just too jam-packed; customers are squeezed together at tiny tables like sardines. God forbid you have to use the bathroom while there, it feels like you're navigating an obstacle course. And the food is only alright for the prices charged. There are many cheaper, superior, and serene alternatives nearby.
Though I've been here many times, this was the worst experience I've had in any restaurant in a long time. For my dish, a salad with chicken paillard, they forgot the chicken - which then would have delayed the meal and our LCT time so I did without; in my husband's, the French fries accompanying his dish came out soggy and lukewarm. they weren't replaced until the end of the meal. The service was a disaster! I have a feeling the waiter was either new or this is not the job for him. But don't put someone so inexperienced on ... read more
Hadn't been in years but this stalwart is a study in loud, careless service with mediocre food. Multiple antipasti were unavailable and the rest of the food served was Olive Tree quality. An expensive tourist joint
