Food is fine but do not go for a pre-theater meal. 5:30 reservation. Drinks by 6:15. No time for appetizers. Dinner arrived at 6:55 and we bolted at 7:15 to make a 7:30 curtain. Slow and surly service. Maybe okay after theater if one is not in a schedule.
Our server showed up 10 minutes after we sat down .. she was not attentive throughout our dining experience.. gave me a dirty and smudged water glass .. and I had to bring it up that it was dirty and have her exchange it.. I have been to this restaurant in the past and normally I get my food which is from the anti-pasta bar, five minutes after I order it.. yesterday I had to call the manager over to bring it over 15 minutes later.. It was not a pleasant experience ... I have been to this restaurant before and I've never had ... read more
I was really disappointed in the service - waiter lost our order, drinks took a long time to come, there was no apology or concern that we were getting terrible service. The Frittata was too salty and dry. I have always enjoyed myself in the past, but will be cautious to return.
This was one of the worst dining experiences ever. Got there a full 2 hours before the Lincoln Center concert and just barely made over across the street. The server never asked if we were going to an event (and I should have volunteered) but I felt we had enough time with 2 hours. First off, after placing our orders, the appetizers came after about a half hour. MY companion did want a salad with no almonds but hey how long does it take to delete almonds. After the appetizers finally arrive, 10 minutes later my friends salmo... read more
The waiter didn't seem to prioritize the diners. The fried artichokes (one of Fiorello's signature dishes) was too salty. The three vegetables we chose were old and lazily warmed, we sent them back. All-in-all it was not up to par with their standard. Hopefully this is a one off– their artichoke dish is usually a treat.
Very bad experience. The restaurant was very noisy, the service really bad : our waiter disappeared for 20 minutes and nobody bothered to take our order in the meantime. Table right under a fan, wonderful if you want to call sick the next morning. Pizzas were way too salty, we couldn't even finish them and had to drink 5 glasses of water per slice eaten. Waiter poorest some wine everywhere on the table, except in the glasses. Had to ask for the check about 3 times, since every time the waiter was coming back with the dessert... read more
The service was bad. In fact one of the maitre d' had to take our order and deliver some of our MAIN DISHES. hE WAS SO SHORT-STAFFED HE OFFERED US FREE DESSERTS. The Jewish artichokes are a staple and usually very good. They were good but there were very few and they were not presented nicely on the plate. We got there at 4:50 for a 5PM reservation and just made ity out of the restaurant for a 7 PM concert across the street. We are rergulars and love the place but they have to get their act together for better service.
We have been to this restaurant many times before, but not for dinner. This visit will keep us from going back. The service was below that which we have experienced previously. Also, the lasagna my wife had lacked taste and the skirt steak I had was tough. We were quite disappointed.
The area where we were seated was the equivalent of a sardine tin. It was uncomfortable and unpleasant. The tables for two are miniature and plates cannot fit easily on the surface. Maybe the population capacity is within fire department laws but it is not for comfort. Sympathy to the wait staff who had to edge by sideways every time they were in the area. While my friend was cautioned that the lasagna was not traditional it was awful. It looked like a flat piazza with meatballs (!) dumped in the center. Calling it lasagna i... read more
