Caters to the tourists? Spaghetti overcooked, meat balls FATTY with little taste, sauce tasteless
Would not go back there.
Myself and three companions waited over one hour for our meal to be served, Yes, it was a busy night but somebody messed up.
I am extremely disappointed in the service I received on Sunday night. I made a 7:15 pm reservation on Open Table. At 5:00 pm (more than 2 hours before my reservation time), I walked over and asked the host if I would be able to sit outside. He said he would look into it and asked for my reservation name. I left feeling confident that he would handle my request - especially since the outdoor area was only 20% full. I walked back over to the restaurant at 7:00 pm and asked the host how it was looking for my outdoor table. He ... read more
We were placed right in the back near the waiters station so we had the constant flurry of waiters, including one argument amongst them. Our order was taken promptly though our request for a bottle of prosecco resulted in two glasses (waiter did not listen). Food was average, partners 'lasagne' (open, more like a pizza) was excessive in size (would feed two - her preference would have been less but better quality). The food was tasty but both dishes which has short rib included had some gristle (bit off putting). An average ... read more
I've eaten at Cafe Fiorello for decades. Recently I met friends there before the ballet; they were treating and hadn't been to CF - they always go to Boulud. The maitre d' gave us the booth requested at the back of the restaurant, which was great. Eventually a waiter appeared and asked about water, pushing spring water. We ordered tap. Eventually he came back and took our drinks order and after a short wait delivered them. Then he vanished. My host had to wave down a captain (or head waiter) to put in the order, at which poi... read more
if you are indifferent to the quality of food, but want a place near Lincoln Center that is not overly loud and where the wait staff is perfectly agreeable, then this could be the place for you. Having eaten here several times, both lunch and dinner, I must emphasize that the food itself barely reaches mediocre and not always that
We were seated in different sections of the restaurant for 20 minutes, causing us to have to rush dinner to get to a performance. This put a negative turn on everything. Food was OK. Disappointed that the Front Desk was so completely disorganized that when my guest gave my name they seated her in another place.
Just was there a couple weeks ago and ordered the same meals and this time they were less than half the size (except for dessert). Thought the appetizer of burrata stuffed ravioli a couple weeks ago of only two for the price was expensive but at least they tasted good. This time I think they gave us one ravioli cut in half hidden under the sauce! Also, fish portions are very small and all you get are very few pieces of roasted vegetables. Shame as we do love eating at Café Fiorello and always recommend but now will hesitate.
