Did not care for the antipasti lunch. Veggies not crisp or tasty
Had a delicious dinner at Fiorello Cafe in August prior to going to a Lincoln Ctr performance. Anxious to return , I encouraged friends to meet me there. Every thing was disappointing. The waiter said the menus had changed 3 times since August. Food selection limited, overpriced and mediocre . Least expensive bottle of Chianti $49.
I have been going to Cafe Fiorello for many years. You can't beat the convenience aspect, as the restaurant is across the street from Lincoln Center. I have watched this restaurant change hands and go through many changes. Most unfortunately, whoever is in charge of it now, has brought it to a new low. It is no longer worth going to, not even for the convenience factor. How can you ruin a salad! A Caesar salad that tastes like pure mayonnaise and has one anchovy! Back it went. And, their signature lasagna dish is just dreadf... read more
Sadly, my dining experience was beyond sub par. While the noise level is to be expected as loud, the service and food were unacceptable. I was unable to complain since everything took so long -- I would have missed my concert. Over-salted pasta, Chicken Parm -- over breaded with barely any chicken, server kept disappearing and the Caesar Salad was a pile of lettuce leaves, uncut on a plate that was too small, so the leaves kept falling off the plate.
Bad setup...had to ask for napkins and water twice we asked for butter 3 x Dinner ,their special lasagna ,was served but we had to wait for our wine for 10 minutes My red wine was served in a glass and was noticeably less than my companions that was served by 4 oz carafe The lash a was tasteless and it was just a large piece of fresh pasta on the plate smeared with bolognedr sauce, 2 meatballs and 2 small pieces of burrata NOT lasagna Will not go back
We have dined at Fiorello many times for lunches and pre- concert dinners. The food and the service has always been very good to excellent. Last Friday, Nov. 6, we booked a table and noted a 7:30 PM curtain. (NB: I am handicapped and walk very slowly.) We arrived at Fiorello at 6:00 PM. We ordered and received our appetizers by 6:35. Despite our frequent reminders, no food was served until we rose to leave at 7:20 PM. We never had our dinner. As we left, the maitre de gave me his card and promised to make good on our next vi... read more
We used to enjoy coming here, but no longer. It is overpriced for mediocre food. Only good things are the location, the service and the chocolates on depature.
Great location near Lincoln center. Unfortunately the food was mediocre at best. Several items on the menu were not available. The wait staff was affable but could not make up for the disappointing tasteless food.
They could not handle the crowds at 6 PM. We were there early. The food just did not arrive, when it did come it was mediocre at best, and we left without dessert, coffee and very disappointed. The place has deteriorated markedly. I am moving on.
