We've been dining at Fiorello for over 23 years. It had always been fantastic food and service. This past Saturday the restaurant and its staff ruined our evening. Sad decline for a place that used to be amazing.

They bring the wine by the glass to the table in clear bottles (it is not poured from the actual bottle of wine). I ordered a glass of wine and when I tasted it it seemed as if it had been diluted. I then ordered a second glass of the same wine and requested the waiter to this time pour it from the bottle at the table and it looked darker and tasted more like the wine I was expecting. To me, by the time I have any reason to believe that my wine has been diluted I already do not want to go back to that restaurant. Aside of th... read more

Service has plummeted terribly. Waitperson was both annoying and inattentive. Check was slow and my coat could not be found. As such, my friend and I missed our showtime!! Lasagna was not stacked, but an intentional puddle of ingredients.

We have been going to Cafe Fiorello for about 20years 2 or 3 times a year when visiting the Lincoln Center. In the early years Fiorellos was always a highlight. Sadly this restaurant has gone badly down hill. It is no longer the iconic American-Italian that it once was. The menu is reduced and boring. The blackboards full of catch of the day offerings long gone, the wonderful self section antipasti just a memory. The problem now is that so little has taken their place. A list of vegetarian hors d'oeuvres may please some but ... read more

Sadly our experience reflects that of some other reviewers. The food was fine, not stellar but OK but the service was poor. We arrived at 5.30, to give us plenty of time to eat at a leisurely pace before the opera. By 7 we had had our antipasti but no entree, despite several inquiries and being told it was on its way. Then another plate of (complimentary) antipasti arrived. We got our entrees shortly afterwards but had to leave half as it was so late. The really infuriating thing was that other diners on each side of us were... read more

Nice spot across from the Lincoln. Comfortable ambiance and nice crowd. Excellent service from the staff. The food however was not so good. And it should be for the price and location. It's difficult to believe that in this day a restaurant could survive on location alone. A trip to Italy for the chef and owner should be in their plans!

My husband and I had dinner here with another couple in late September 2015. We all found our meals to be far too salty. Even the bread basket selections were too salty. We will not be eating here again.

We have eaten here multiple times and one thing we love to order are their profiteroles for dessert. We were going to theatre at 8:00 so I made the reservation for 6:15. I figured that would give us plenty of time. The theatre was across the street at Lincoln Center. We were seated promptly and our waiter approached us at once. Our drinks and appetizer came out in a timely manner. Then the wait began. I understand the restaurant was very busy but we did not see our waiter for quite awhile. A half hour passed and still no ent... read more

We waited one hour for our food. The waiter was not attentive. It took three tries to get a second basket of bread to ease our hunger. Finally the maitre'd took over and brought us more antipasto with the explanation that the pizzas were running late (I ordered pizza). He then brought us muffins for breakfast the next day and a glass of lemocello and took off my husband's antipasto from the bill. So in the end it was a good experience only because the maitre'd did what he was supposed to. Make the customer happy in the end. ... read more
