It is across the street from the Lincoln center, but the food and service was just ok. It is a pretty restaurant, but they try to sit you in tight places there and have slow service. The bread was good but the food was not that great. Maybe we should have ordered the pizza.Next time we go to a show we will eat somewhere else.
We were seated promptly but many waiters and bus boys walked past us over and over. We finally flagged a waiter who agreed to take our order although he said he wasn't assigned to us. Our food, when it came, was quite good. The people at the next table were about to call for a manager because they got neither butter or olive oil. wait staff appeared inexperienced, unable to answer questions. My friend's drink order (Martini) was incorrectly filled. The wait staff insisted that the drink served was the drink she order, I heard her give the order and it was clearly the wait staff's mistake, Having little confidence in getting what she wanted she ordered a replacement drink that she essentially mixed herself. Seated punctually for our 6:15pm reservation at a 5-top. Gave food order promptly. Finally received meal at 7:40pm. No time to digest food as we had 8pm curtain across the street. Waiter was distracted and was far more attentive to tables filled with customers he seemed to know. Water glasses were filled with annoying regularity but NO food! When food arrived...it was not very good at all. Overdressed salad, stale pizza crust, warm food that should have been hot etc.
I have been to Fiorello's more times than I can count. Great Bloody Mary's, incredible basket of rolls and pastries for brunch, but the food, feh. Ordered Italian breakfast ---eggs good but warm, ham & potatoes cold. Sent back the ham and it reappeared, still cold. Order of French Toast was burnt outside and a soggy tasteless mess inside. Sent back and another Italian breakfast was ordered. It too was cold. Poached eggs on Eggs Benedict was almost hard boiled. What goes Fiorello? Do I have to cross you off the list too?
Table was very cramped we sat inches away from other dinners. Food was not Italian style and overpriced. No tanquerary on the bar, and only one flavored vodka available from the bar. We were very disappointed as this restaurant was recommended by a friend. Only positive comment was our waitress, she was very attentive.
After all this time, they don't know how to handle a pre-theater crowd. Waiter didn't get to us for quite awhile, never checked to see how we were doing. We didn't get our appetizers and they charged us $36 for a $13 glass of inferior wine. We felt like we were in a fast food restaurant with exorbitant prices!
We had dinner here before seeing a show at Lincoln Center. We were seated on time, and the table was small, but to be expected due to the volume of people they were trying to serve. The service was excellent throughout. I had the Rebollita soup (fair), my wife had an appetizer salad (good), we each had a glass of Chianti (overpriced and not memorable). On our last visit to the restaurant, our waiter (From London, UK) was excellent. No complaints about service . About the food...well --portions were meager..on a dish described as veal marsala with mushrooms, The veal was not tender. There were 2 mushrooms.
