How can Carchex have an A+ rating with only 2 stars? I am a current Carchex contract holder in a hurry to cancel my contract. A $1,600 repair was knocked down to a pre-approved claim of $1,047, minus $200 deductible = $847. Ten days later and the claim still had not received final approval from the service contract provider, ******************** (***). Carchex subs their contracts out to administrators, in my case "*************************" out of Dublin, Ohio. I paid ~$5500 for a contract covering "internally lubricated parts" including the engine and transmission for my 2018 **** S4 to 150,000 miles. Well at 65k miles my engine blew. The car was towed to my local **** service department about a month ago and the service writer was provided the Carchex warranty documents and called the administrator **********. I cancelled my policy over a month ago and I haven't received my refund yet. They said it was because I cancelled with the insurance provider instead of with them. However, this is the method I was told to cancel. Carchex's system showed the cancellation a few weeks ago. However, they keep giving false deadlines for the refund. I have to pay interest on my credit card for each day they refuse to hold my refund. I will file a formal complaint if I don't receive a refund by Friday morning.

I purchased a platinum level plan from Carchex for $3700. I shopped around, and asked a lot of questions. After being told *explicitly* that "everything on my truck except brakes/tires/filters etc will be covered", I pulled the trigger. I took notes. It turns out that was untrue. *ONLY* "covered items" listed specifically in the contract are covered, despite my receiving assurances that everything but wear items are covered. BUYER BEWARE!!! I purchased the Titanium Package from Carchex. My very first time dealing with this company was last week when I called in to speak with a subject matter expert on IF a part was covered. I spoke with an agent extensively on what part I had questions on, If that specific part was covered and what I needed to do as a customer to prepare myself for the claim. I think Carchex is a major SCAM. 7 months after buying their warantee, i had an A/C breakdown. I took my vehicle into a ********* shop to have it looked at, and was told they couldnt work on it because carchex wouldnt cover all the parts necessary to do an effective repair. ********* gave me an estimate of $3,167.66 and Carchex offered $611.00. I got this contract hoping that I would not need it for my daughter, however, I was wrong because she had engine problem. We took it to a certified shop who stated that the engine head gasket was bad causing smoke from the engine. He recommend another engine because the cost of repairing would be higher. Carchex was informed but refuse to authorize another engine stating that the gasket was not covered therefore, another is not authorized. Stay away from this company. Never had a claim never received paper contract I was promised just an email with sample contract that would not open. I canceled and only received half my money over two months later. Contacting them is a joke, your on hold then hung up on or told after half an hour hold time they are closed.
