I've been taking my two 16 y/o Himalayan cats to Caring Hands of Alexandria for the past 3 years and overall, I've been very satisfied w/the care they've received, both from the technicians & the veterinarians, especially Dr. Heatherly. That said, there are 2 aspects of CH of Alexandria that really bother me: 1) they seem to have very little regard for their clients' time (I had to wait in their lobby for upwards of an hour the last time I was there to pick up one of my cats, & on average, I'd say I'm left to wait 20-30 mi... read more

This was our first visit to CH. all I have to say is wow! All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Venom got so much love and affection from everyone. Dr. Newman was awesome. He treated Venom like he was his own dog. I recommend this hospital to anyone looking for a vet in the Alexandria area. Thank you all for being awesome!

I cannot say enough about this wonderful community of caring staff. I started going to Caring Hands shortly after they opened at Van Dorn a few years ago. From the moment I walked in to the reception area and was greeted with friendly faces I knew this was the place to bring my Cinder girl. This was the ONLY animal hospital she had ever gone to where she did not get anxious. The staff always got down at her level and took their time making sure she was comfortable. Everyone at this location is amazing! They legitimately care about your pet and are super considerate about whatever money situation you're in. Caring Hands in general I feel is just a great company. Everyone is super sweet and talks to you. It's very very clean inside too. Absolutely love the staff!

My husband and I recently moved back to the area after living abroad. We used to go to another local animal hospital when we lived in Alexandria before, however, the restricted hours and lack of parking were very problematic, especially when taking all 3 of our dogs at the same time. We saw Caring Hands on S. Van Dorn when we went to Unleashed and decided to give them a try since they're much closer to where we live, they have extended hours of operation, lots of parking and great reviews. We took our new rescue to Caring Hands on the recommendation of friends who've had great experiences there and are so happy that we did! The techs and the front desk staff are all incredibly helpful and patient, especially with a new rescue who's been through a lot of transistor and is a bit timid. We had Dr. Ventocilla for our initial appointment and were pleased at her gentle and caring nature with our boy, Bear. I've been very impressed with Caring Hands. Choosing a vet can be so scary, because you want the best for your pet without breaking the bank. I ended up giving Caring Hands a shot because of the other positive reviews, and I'm so happy I did. Although it's a little on the pricey side, the care and service provided more than makes up for it. My cat absolutely hates traveling, and hates the vet office, (what cat doesn't?), but I've never had a vet more patient with him. If I could give more than 5 stars for this review, I would. Without going into a long story, I ended up at Caring Hands twice this past week, and unfortunately, the 2nd time was to have my kitty euthanized.
