Extremely poor customer service. It’s a huge hassle to get any type of help, information, or solutions to issues. I had a return check fee occur in December. I called to see what happened and got it fixed. I was told they would do a courtesy and waive the $10 fee. I added a new bank account and double checked it was correct. I selected this new bank account. CenterPoint then tried to draw the payment from the incorrect account (not the one I had selected). They charged me a return fee again despite it being their fault. Outrageous fees for distribution and service charge. I only use gas in the winter for heat. I do not use gas in the warm months. But I still get charged distribution and service. Why? If I get it distributed to my residence one month where I don't use it. Why in the heck would I get charged again the next month? This is a rip-off of the customers. Claimed to never received multiple of my payments they said that it was insufficient funds but my bank statements shown it’s been taken out multiple times. Talked to my bank they disputed one of the claims but 153$ I still haven’t gotten back. On top of that was charged a bunch of late fees. Cause was claimed it was insufficient funds but my funds were taken. Customer service is no help whatsoever. CenterPoint Energy records show that your account was successfully credited for one payment of $151.81, but two other payment attempts for that same amount were returned by your bank in January-February 2025. There was also a returned payment of $45.22 in December 2024.

Thy give you a four hour window for repairs and then they call you at the last minute telling they can’t come out and reschedule.

I purchased home service plan for 79.99 with replacement plan since last May for my rental house. We also provided a mailing address other than service address and paid for this plan for 11 month when our water heater was leaking and service guy said it was no repairable nor qualify for replacement under company‘s policy and we communicated with customer service and tried to talk with their manager. We are asking them to cancel the account for our previous house since March. But every month, we receive an invoice for this house, now occupied by someone else.

Fraud must be stoped by the state of Texas illegal entry during a BK , the law dose not comply with this company, the federal law must stop them now , they took my meter has no gas and amount due $300 , must be stoped , they came on Friday and there officer open Monday , under United States of America federal law BK they must wait and stand down till the end Bk , please advise

Professionally non-functional energy company. If there were any other options in the area, I would switch. In Minnesota, Centerpoint seems chronically understaffed. They struggle to perform basic service requests, making billing errors frequently. This has been my personal experience as well as a general experience for my network.
