What they do not say is the call is automated and will not leave a message, so if you work for a living and cannot be taking a day off (appt window time 12 - 4) then you have to answer all random calls that come in to your phone. We had a hot water heater issue. Service tech was scheduled 3 times to come out and fix. All three times were no shows and noone told us they were not going to show. Three days of 12 hour and 10 hour waits and no show. My experience is very similar to Gary M. No excuse for this! We still have not fixed the issue at this point. I will be cancelling my home service plus.
Centerpoint is a terrible company with the worst customer service possible, and unfortunately hold an illegal monopoly in my area, it should be shut down but maybe they're putting money in someone's pocket to keep running this racket. They cut our power at our new apartment because we hadn't yet put the account in our name because we literally haven't even been living there yet, but despite cutting it in the middle of the day Wednesday they stated they couldn't come out until Monday. I had payed my elderly father $3,000 gas bill and had set up a appointment to have his gas reconnected first appointment guy did not have the correct tools needed 2nd appointment needed to reschedule 3rd appointment was No Show it has been 2 weeks since I paid the bill in full and still has not been reconnected so he has no warm water, gas stove to cook on there is no excuse for 3 appointments to have no out come ! I have center point’s total repair plan which is supposed to cover all appliances and repairs/maintenance. I scheduled AC repair service appointment and Center Point sent a technician that refused to fix my AC and told me to call other technicians to fix it. I called center point customer service and requested explanation on why I was refused service. I requested information on the service. I filled out the initial information they require online and then never did anything following that initial request. I was billed for a year's worth of service, which i wasnt even aware of until i received a call from a collection agency. Even if i did initiate the service, which I would contest, billing monthly for a year without a receiving any payment or any communication is excessive
They quoted me a price that included a $200 discount for prepayment for installing a new furnace. The salesman said he would send over paper work for me to sign and an address to send the check. He hired a different company to install and they botched the installation before he sent the purchase agreement and the location to send the check. I told them that I was going to withhold payment until the problems were resolved. He said since I didn't prepay he was going to add the $200 back on to the bill.. Easily the worst customer service in the history of customer service. They had to replace my gas meter because only I could figure it wasn’t working! After replacing it they sent 4 screwed up beyond all belief bills at one time totaling $1200 due in 2 weeks. Then sent a letter that was worded like a ransom note, from a PO Box, short sentences, no signature, saying I only owed $147.50. Can't cancel my service online for some reason, so I give them a call. I am put in a queue to get a call back that comes almost 3 hours later, and happened to fall in the only 3 minutes I was away from my phone. So I call again. This time I can't join a queue, so I wait on hold for an hour before someone answers. They tell me their department can't help me, so they transfer me to another department.
