CenterPoint Energy provides the WORST, mediocre service you could ever imagine. They broker with third party plumbers and service contractors to do the job. We are on day 3 without our main drain being unclogged due to tree roots. We pay for an emergency drain cleaning service, but that has proved to be useless since they won't come out! I have never felt more disrespected than customer service with CenterPoint Energy made me feel. I have taken care of my grandmother for years on and off but when my ex and I separated she was under lease for her apartment and I was in a place in my life and it would have helped her for me to take over the remaining 7 months on her lease. Garbage. I'm in Minnesota, it was end of Oct and our furnace stopped working. We've been paying for HomeService Plus for years so we had them come out 11-7-21 (earliest they could come out), said they knew what was happening but didn't have the part so had it ordered and sent to our house the next day. I would give a zero if I could. We've used the home service plus for years and haven't had major issues, but this past week has been beyond frustrating. Our furnace went out 5 days ago. We called immediately (on a Friday) and were told that a a technician would be out sometime between 8 AM and 11 PM on Saturday. Ok, a bit of an inconvenience to have to wait that long at home (without heat in Minnesota winter), but we did it. No show. Rates are too high. Rates are not consistent with residents. Rate increases are killing our budgets and family needs. We are having to sacrifice being comfortable in our own household so we can afford centerpoints bills. Their Ceo, VP, VP of operations, and all the other corporate members need a paycut to pay for centerpoints "business needs" instead of attacking their customers. Been paying for the home service plus plan for over 6 years. We have CPE out 3 times for clothes washer issues. The first time the employee did not even take apart the washer and called an associate for advice. Came upstairs told us there is nothing they can do and no explanation as to what the problem was. So we bought a new washer. Second time they came out the tech actually took apart the washer and told us that CPE will not fix it because it is to expensive. We have paid for Home Service Plus for 25+ years. We have used it minimally. Recently we had a range element go out on a Maytag smooth top stove. The technician visited us and discovered he would need to order the part. Total time--maybe 25-30 minutes. He returned four weeks later once the part arrived. The part was obviously broken. Total time--15 minutes. I was informed that the part was no longer available and the stove could not be repaired.
