These people called my 93 year old mother and talked her into changing her phone service. Our first indication of this was when the router arrived at her apartment. She did not know what it was or why it was sent to her. We called Clear Rate Communications to stop them from initiating service. Stay away. Their customer service is severely lacking. First off called to set up service the woman didnt take my number. Then when I called 4 days later was told they were supposed to call me for a deposit. That woman told me that she would leave a note to expedite so I would still fall within my **** business day window to turn my service on. Then I called again 4 days later and was told oh no out policy states the **** days start after the deposit is taken. Then I call on the 10th day no services still. And find out that ... read more

I was contacted by Clear Rate Communications today. They stated that ******* has contracted with them to save me money on our business phone service. I stated to them that I would need more information before changing anything. The person on the call said I received notice from ******* a few weeks ago and that they would be transferring my phone service. Called my grandmother saying they were taking over billing for CenturyLink since CenturyLink had been sued by FTC and lost. And her new phone bill would be $50 and come from different name but not to worry because they were taking over CenturyLink accounts. Misleading scammers. They aren't taking over CenturyLink just using manipulation tactics to sign up "new" customers. If unable to get services canceled and returned to CenturyLink will file elder abuse charges

This company was a nightmare to deal with. Insist that they are never wrong. Continue sending bills for canceled service then say that only phone service was canceled not internet which is not true.

I got a phone call account a month ago saying they were Century Link and that they have been losing so many customers as they switch to cel phones only that Clear Rate was taking over the billing and that the monthly bill would only be 50 bucks per month. Of course, I did this to save money in these horrible economic times. A few days later when I received a call as soon as I answered it went to a dial tone. Never got a call to come through. Worst company to deal with! My senior parents have had nothing but problems with this company. The company does not cash their received payments in a timely manner and then charges late fees even when the payments were electronically sent. It is less than a 50% chance they call back after waiting to put in a complaint about the service. The landline service was out for more than twenty days in the month of December and they stated it would not be in service until 12th of January, which it still wasn't fixed until days after ... read more

Received a phone call stating that Clear Rate could give us the same service that we had for our land line and internet for a lower cost. I agreed to this and someone came out to our house a couple of days later and switched the internet. The internet seems to be working fine, but we received a box we had to hook up. The box will not stop blinking since it was hooked up. We started our service on October 31st. About a month later, our century link land line was disconnected.
