They called me and said that they were my local carrier offering a price reduction as part of the upcoming name change of my current provider. (Century Link to ******).They totally misrepresented who they were and when I asked if they were truly Century Link the representative said they were. During the automated / recorded process to verify I wanted to get my new lower rate one of the later questions noted that this was indeed a company called Clear Rate Communications and not Century Link. I agreed to do business with clear Rate immediately. I then received a device for my land line phone which did not work. Consequently, after a month, I have no land like service and can not talk to anyone at this company without my mobile phone disconnecting. Clear Rate's phones usually keeps you on hold for about an hour and then it disconnects. I've gone through this about four times ( hold on for an hour, the disconnect ) No 0ne returns my calls. The most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. You have to dance through hoops to get them to cancel your account, all the while new bills come in. Hope they go out of business. Sure like to give coustomers the business .

My aunt who is 80 years old was told by Clear ******************* **** that **** was going out of business. She believed that her services would be terminated. They terminated her services with **** and sent her an antenna with no instructions and I learned that she was without services for more than two weeks. We sent a letter of complaint and returned their equipment to them in July. As a response they sent her an additional bill for $281.16 for services and failure to return the equipment. My 83 yo FIL phone has been out for nearly 20 days. He has a life alert which clearly doesn't work without the phone working. I've spoken to nearly 5 different reps with all kinds of excuses & false promises. Clear rate "rents" the lines from Frontier .Another red flag. One rep said it will be fixed ***** hrs. Don't happen. Next rep said said I'll have a supervisor call you. Didn't happen. I asked what call back number are you using. Of course, it was the non working number. UGH.

When I switched from century link to clear rate two years ago, they were awesome. Fabulous customer service...you call and immediately talked to a person. Now, my phone service is not working, I call and wait on hold forever. I've been sent a bill that is past due for phone service I didn't have. I'm told I will be contacted within 24 hours, never happens. Their recording says there are no calls in front of you but you are still kept on hold. I didn't think it was possible for any company to be worse than Centurylink.

My clear rate internet service were disrupted most likely from a storm on the last Friday in July. I called clear rate Sunday 7/31 I think. Was given a ticket number and told someone would call Monday. Called back on Tuesday after a 126 minute wait on phone, was given another ticket number told it would be 3 days before someone could be out to fix internet. I did tell them I would be out of town Thursday until Tuesday. But came back home Monday. I have sent emails been given multiple excuses and still have no internet. When ... read more

Worst customer service we have ever experienced...have spent a minimum of 4 hours on hold, rude customer service reps and spent two days at our cabin waiting for service tech to show up without them showing up- phone conversations with these folks are frustrating and fruitless...do NOT use Clear Rate if you have any other choice! I would actually give a fraction of a star if possible... **********

My 91 year old father who resides in an assisted living facility was contacted by Clearrate wanting him to change. His phone was actually in my name but I was not contacted to approve this change. This occurred three weeks ago & still no phone. This lack of communication is only doing more damage to his mind. I have called multiple times only to speak with a person who is hateful & unwilling to help. I've asked for a manager or supervisor only to be told no one is available.
