We have had several great experiences at the Tysons location of Mervis Diamond Importers. Most recently, after a purchase, Monica was extremey helpful in getting a ring resized. Mervis is a very comfortable and friendly business - would highly recommend to others. Thanks!!
Mervis is expensive, however you do get what you pay for. GIA certified (highest diamond certification you can get), Free cleanings at anytime, and some ring companies (like Tacori) offer free maintenance which is great for a lose stone or something like that. I couldn't have been more pleased with the shopping experience and the knowledge of the staff. I've visited the Jared's and other jewelers and they can't compare. I went to a few places and didn't really feel comfortable with the selection or the service I received. I was looking to buy an engagement ring and had never bought a diamond before. I walked in, and was directed toward Brenda. After a brief explanation of what I was looking for, I gave her my price range. Disappointing customer service. This location will be attentive if it's a new sale, but if you need anything else related to resizing, maintaining, etc their customer service is lacking. We have made a lot of purchases through Mervis including earrings, bracelets, wedding and engagement bands. The quality of the jewelry is fantastic, however their customer service is surprisingly lacking and sloppy. My wife and I bought our wedding bands at Mervis and couldn't be happier. The customer service is top notch and the quality of the jewelry is excellent. They answer all your questions and do their best to help you come to a selection. On top of that, when my original band was too big, they sent it back and did gave me a new band, engraved and all. Excellent service. We will definitely come back for future purchases.
Mervis was our first time we looking at engagement rings. They were very friendly as soon as we walked in the door, even though we did not have an appointment. The staff asked us what we were looking for and we discussed our interest in a sapphire engagement ring. We had a wonderful experience here, which put our visits to all other non-Mervis companies to shame. We visited about five other large diamond companies nearby. Dion was very patient with us and thorough with his explanations of the diamonds and their tradeoffs. My fiancé bought my engagement ring from Mervis, and we later returned together to buy wedding bands. The service started out great, and we love our rings. However, they treated us (and me in particular) badly when it came time to pay. We'd agreed that since my fiancé had covered the engagement ring, I would buy the wedding bands. I did not have a good experience with Mervis. I bought a diamond with them to bring home and was going to evaluate it further before bringing it back to have it set in a setting that we liked at Mervis. Once I got home, I noticed it had more color than I was looking for (the incandescent lights really soaked the stone). I bought another diamond from another retailer with no color and went to return the original diamond to Mervis.
