Worst experience of my life ... I am not someone who freaks out on retail or sales individuals because I have been there . Most unacceptable .. Ridiculous service and treatment I have ever had in my life . It has honestly turned what should have been wonderful into a living hell . And I am still in the middle of trying to determine why bridesmaids dresses my girls ordered and paid for are now discontinued ... Worst experiences I've ever had! Made an appointment to try on dresses and when I got there they told me they couldn't take me because they took in a walkin instead. Eventually they helped me and I bought a $1500 dress. They never told me it was in, I called and they were rude saying "it's been in". I asked if I need to make an appointment to get it taken in and they said no. So, I go to get sized and when they get my dress they hang it up and say "here". A horrible experience. We went the first time to look at bridal gowns. I was expecting it to be busy and chaotic, which it was- but the salesperson they matched me with was MOST unhelpful. She only helped with getting dresses of the rack, my sister in law did the rest. She half-heartedly tossed a veil that I said I didn't want on my head. Dear David's Bridal - I called to order my gown for my friends wedding ...... I was put on hold for 19 minutes - long distance - then hung up on ..... and when I called directly back the phone rang for 2 solid minutes no answer. I had given the size, the party name, I even had the dress code. I'm not sure what else I could have done to expedite this purchase vs. coming there and processing the request with my own hands. Now I'm appalled I have to purchase my gown somewhere that has such poor customer service!
I've been in weddings three times now where we ordered our dresses at David's in South Portland. Orders for weddings #1 and #2 went through pretty smoothly. Not so much for wedding #3. David's is always busy and overcrowded and overbooked. Staff are friendly enough, but scarce at best. We found the dress we liked, and placed our order.
