This is a review on the apartment finding and lease signing process. I have not moved in yet. Justin Giles was super fantastic in helping me find a suitable apartment at Domain. I came in early on a Monday morning before work and asked if I can quickly view a studio and 1 bedroom. Justin was very understanding and I was able to see everything I needed to in under 30 mins. My pre-move was a nightmare and I was so worried that this was going to be the end of it. The updater website that they use for pre move checklist is great to keep you on top of the things you need to do, but there were things on there that you did not have to do. For example, you don't need to sign up for water - the building bills you for it in your resident portal. When I called EBMUD they were equally as confused as I was. I have been living here for two years, I like this community since first day! This community is very clean with nice and free gym, which is a bonus point! The management is great, the staff are very friendly and helpful, response to our inquiry is also fast. Our family have a really good time here. As far as I am concerned, security is never a problem, I am feeling safe staying here.

They're right next to bart within a walking distance. The best part of this community is the management, the manager is very responsible and friendly. Whenever I came up with any problems, they're very happy to help me out in a timely manner. I would highly recommend it to my friends who are looking to live at an one or two bedrooms apartment at downtown Oakland.

Since Greystar came as the new management company, this place has become terrible, as soon as my lease is over I'm moving to one of the new buildings being build in Oakland, so many options, I don't need to deal with this poorly managed building.

New owners, and they started taking away amenities. They lost 2 of my packages, and took zero responsibilities. The new staff is not very friendly, they lied to me several times about my packages. The rec rooms are poorly maintained. I really miss the old staff. I probably won't live here again.

Disappointed. Like others below me, this review pertains to new management that took over a few months ago (Greystar). There are a lot of issues with: communication, cleanliness, amenities but the #1 reason I am writing this review is due to the SAFETY issue at Domain. The front door of the lobby has been shattered, packages (both incoming and outgoing) have been torn apart and stolen. Strangers have been seen sleeping in our communal cafe or using the gym. To start, I loved living here under the old management. Ever since the new management took over it has made my decision real easy to look elsewhere once my lease is up. The commons grounds have become dirty, I have yet to see them vacuum the hallways. On multiple occasions they have turned off the gas to all units claiming it would only be a few hours, however turned into multiple days.. meaning you could not cook or shower.
