It's been about 6 months without a fire alarm issue. There are still some annoying things (slow garbage/recycling removal, construction, elevator outages, mailroom issuee, closing of some stores nearby), but overall the experience has been vastly improved by someone actually fixing the fire alarms. I absolutely love the location of this housing unit. I had the pleasure of touring the property with leasing agent Hanaya R. I'll start off by saying I was greeted by all the employees with a smile and really nice welcoming energy. Working with Hanaya was great, I absolutely loved how pleasant and knowledgeable she was of the area and all the perks that came along with living here in this area. I lived here from 2013-2015 and now I just moved back! I am a Developer and will have work here again in Oakland for the next couple years so decided to move back to The Domain. Julia was very helpful and made the process go smoothly and stress free. Being from Oakland originally I think it's easy to complain about how expensive it is to rent an apartment these days. I moved my son into a unit here (his first apt) last week. This review details my experience so far, with the leasing team, and the move in. My leasing consultant was Julia Mendoza. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Here are my complaints: 1). They took 3.5 days to approve the application, AFTER all documents were submitted. Submitted the appn on July 20 (Sat), gave income proofs by 21st, wanted to move in on 27th. Save yourself some time and trouble, don't ever go to Domain. I usually don't write online comments but Domain has treated me and my husband so unfairly that I don't have a choice but telling people about it. First of all, I want to start by saying that Domain was well managed before Greystar management took over. We really enjoyed our first 2 years there with FPI management. Toured the community with my friend, the manager Justin was very nice and helpful during the tour/application process. Great amenities and overall the property was in good shape. Toured the surrounding area and found great dinning & shopping. It's also very very close to Bart which is great because that's what she is looking for!

Of all my experiences around the country in 20 years, this has been the worst. After living there for 2.5 years, I have enough credible data to safely say that this should never be in anyone's consideration. False alarms on a weekly basis, trash not removed for days, consistently broken elevators, rude staff. A resident nightmare.

I recently moved into this building and because it has been such a great experience I wanted to make sure to share here. One thing I loved about moving in was all the different choices of thoughtfully designed units. Whether you're moving in alone or with friends/family there is a space for you here.
