I have lived in Domain by Alta for about 3 months now. Even though there have been some things that have occurred i would have to say overall that i am very happy with Domain by Alta. I feel that they provide everything you could ask for from a coffee lounge with free WiFi and coffee to a 24 hour gym. If your downsizing from a home to an apartment and need to store items that may not feel feel no need to worry for they do have storage space you can rent out for a low price a month. We also have full access to a Pilates room ... read more

I'd lean toward 2.5, but will be generous and give 3 stars to Domain. Pros: - Beautiful finishes for kitchen and bathroom. Granite counters, stainless steel appliances, very nice cabinets. - LOTS of electrical outlets (seriously, my tiny entryway has 6 outlets. Small studio kitchen has 3. Total for apartment? Probably 15+, that being said, there is only one in the bathroom. Strange). - Very nice gym - Package room with e-mail alerts - Good kitchen storage for a studio apartment. - The leasing agents have gotten MUCH better... read more

Living at Domain has been absolute hell on earth. Save yourself, and DO NOT rent here. During the time that my wife and I have lived here, we had our bike stolen off of our 3rd floor private balcony where someone literally scaled the building to get onto our balcony and take our bike while we were in the apartment. Our car was broken into while parked in the Domain garage that we paid monthly to have a spot in. And conveniently, the management at this building said numerous times they couldn't do anything about it, including... read more

Great building, with a nice staff (Tianti, Preshante & Devon) and quick responsive onsite repairmen. Security at night is a plus. They host really thoughtful holiday parties in the residence lounge, which is a cool gesture.

The good is it's reasonable rent and close to BART. Unfortunately the cost is in extremely poor management and facilities. For example, the elevators are frequently down, and it takes weeks or months to fix them. This is an ordeal when the complex is half a block. The fire alarms (which are industrial grade) go off frequently, often between 2 and 4am, and often take 10-20 minutes to turn off despite usually being a false alarm. Packages are often stolen. The mailboxes were ripped open and many tenants had to pick their mail ... read more

A perfect example of a really nice apartment building turned living nightmare and it's entirely the fault of bad management.

Communication is terrible. Good luck finding someone in the office to talk to on the phone or in person during business hours. Your stuff WILL get stolen, I've had packages stolen regularly, stuff stolen off my bike secured to the fence outside my unit. On any given day one of the elevators is broken leaving disabled residents to figure out on their own how to get to their apartments. The gates are supposed to have fob entries, many of them don't consistently, the elevator fobs definitely don't. They charge exorbitant fees a... read more

Replying to the manager: Hi Pershante, There was no mention of power washing in the corridor from your previous emails. They were only about power washing in the garage only. Stop gaslighting your residents. How about trying to own your mistake and be accountable as a property manager? It is not that hard. Domain really went downhill after you became the manager.
